The 2019 pros are similarly priced as a fully loaded 2020 off road. Torn between the two. Someone help push me over the fence between one or the other, losing hair over the decision.

Pro will have the better shocks, the OR will have the better dashboard gadgets. Do you want to lift it? If yes, get the OR.

If I get the off road, planning to lift it. If I get the pro, leaving it stock

You should be able to negotiate a $5k discount on a 2019 Pro being that it’s late in the model year. Dealerships don’t want to stuck with 2019’s when January rolls around. I vote Pro and leave it alone!

Leaning pro and just changing out the tires. Leaving all else stock....for now.

Anyone who has a 2020 weigh in? Were you glad you waited?

I am glad I waited as I really wanted the Apple Carplay and LED lights. Surprisingly the power seat has been a HUGE upgrade from my last Tacoma (2015 TRD Sport).
You will get a better deal on a 2019 for sure, but it just depends if the new upgrades to the 2020 are a worth the extra $$ to you..

I'd go 2020 off road. Electric seat adjustment, android auto/Apple car play, LED headlights, no hood scoop.

You can always buy a TRD Pro Grill but a seat and android auto/Apple car play will be harder to find.

Did you get a good deal on your pro? I see you’re in the Sacramento area, I’m here as well. Been going to Maita and Roseville...

I bought my Pro from Folsom Lake Toyota and I paid a little under MSRP, so some would say I paid too much. I was looking to buy a 2020 TRD OR with Advance Tech, but could not get much of a discount on one. I tried every Toyota Dealer within 50 miles including Oroville and the best I could do on a TRD OR with Adv Tech was a few grand under MSRP. So in the end I got the Pro as it was not that much more than a 2020 TRD OR W/adv tech would have cost me.

Of all the dealers in the Sacramento area I have found Maita Toyota to be the least likely to deal on these trucks.

I’d get the pro and add Morimoto headlights later. They look better than the 2020 led imo

Get the 20, lot of little features over the 19, keyless entry on passenger door, electric seat, CarPlay, headlights. I got 11% off MSRP on OR, if you can’t get that I can put you in touch with a broker in SoCal who will get you the same deal. Also don’t kid yourself, if you spend any amount of time on TW you’ll be doing more than tires on that pro. Get a nice discount off MSRP on the OR and use a portion of the savings to customize it the way you want then slowly make it better than the pro, IMO that’s part of the fun.

Just for reference I bought my fully loaded OR, MSRP $45k for $39,8xx plus tax and license.

    Hey guys,

So the 2019 Pro says MSRP is about 45K - And it sounds like you're saying $40k i an okay price....or do you think I can get it for less?

From what I’m seeing, the pros are going for roughly 42k, maybe 41k at the low end. For 40k, must be a manual tranny...?

The OR may let you fit right here at TW and the mall, but I seriously doubt you’ll notice a difference on the trails.

But on the other hand, the with the Pro, you’ll be at the very top of the food chain here

    Choose wisely

    Cheers!

I choose the 2020 Off-road because of I really wanted Cement, power seats, updated headlights and head-unit. If you don't care for any of those...go with the Pro. I think both cars can be purchased around $40-41k.

I'll also add that I was going to change out the wheels/tires on any trim i get so there's that....but the Pro has the hood scoop!

I have looked at Tacoma every year I get a new truck and every year I have passed on it till the 2020. I cannot stress how much the power seat, carplay, and LED headlights make a difference. Also, it seems the 2020 transmission is.. "fixed" just from all the complaining in this forum. I never have an issue with my transmission.
