go to the GFC mods, tips and tricks forum. a few guys a while back installed their own. i have a dometic. I think it is a bit loud (but i have nothing to compare it to) and it does not have a second latch. the one the guys on there installed does have a second latch. Lots of good info there for the fan and other mods.

The fan will pull moist air out when it's cold and help deal with condensation

And here I thought I was the only one disappointed enough to feel done. That's both comforting and a bummer.

I'm glad I didn't go the fan route though.

Really crossed my mind when I camped in sub-freezing, hit the tent side and it started snowing inside o_O lol

If anyone is looking to sell their reservation, PM me. Ideally something in the 500-600s that has not yet had options set yet.

    TRUE! Lol

I do remember thinking everytime I camped in warm weather, I can see why there where so many Baja photos and stuff... this really works well.

And then thinking everytime the weather was cold, I don't think there where any pictures in the cold. Did they test this thing. Why is everything cold andwet? Lol.

First time I experienced indoor rain was camping in the cold in this thing and kicking the roof panel while waking up :rofl:o_O:crapstorm:

Good luck with that, color samples have shipped up to #719, very few unoptioned ones left in that range. Your best best is to cast a wide net, ask on the GFC forum and expedition portal to try to catch the non tacoma types that might be backing out.

Yeah, you'd think being produced in Montana where it gets a bit chilly they would have done a bit of testing below 40. Both nights I spent were cold and I woke up to dewy walls.

    Good point.

This was what was left after the fluffy bits snowed on me one cold morning at King of Hammers earlier this year.

Never had this much in my Autohome Columbus roof tent.

So now we reply ban and then completely ban people because we don't agree with their opinions?

@rajacat9, apparently for telling people to try posting on GFC's forum rather than here if they want a reply directly from GFC and to avoid the mess this thread seems to become every week or so.

Doesn’t seem very ban-able to me.... but WTF do I know. I’ve certainly seen people say worse in this thread

I seem to remember them marketing these as being completely self repairable when they first released the plans. Now people are saying some repairs have to be sent back to be done.

It sounds like they need to start up a dealer network that can handle repairs. Even a handful of dealers across the country that are a day drive from most people would help a lot. It’s BS to have to ship a camper back and forth to get it repaired.

That’s exactly what they said they are trying to get to. Time will tell if they actually accomplish a national repair service.
