    Man, Woman, Wild

Anybody else watch this show? It's a guy (ex special forces) with his wife (a tv journalist) doing survival type stuff like Bear Grylls on Man vs. Wild.

Anyway, we had the "Mexico" episode recorded and watch it last night. This had to have been one of the funniest ones yet. They were in the Mexican desert and becoming dehydrated, so Myke (the husband) decides it's time to drink pee. He pees in a make shift bowl (carved out of a cactus) and suggest his wife (Ruth) drink it to stay alive. He takes a sip and then gets his wife to take a swig of his piss! After a couple of dry heaves on her part, I was rolling! :D It would have really been funny if she had drank straight from the tap.

This is the funniest "survival" show I've seen yet!

I think he and Bear should team up for a 2 hour special... a "Survival-Off" if you will. It should be all about which one is willing to do the most extreme, disgusting shit to stay alive. The one who looses the least amount of body weight after 2 weeks in some shit hole wins. No camera crews and no medical crews to rely on. :D Who knows, maybe one of them wouldn't walk out... while the other comes out fat as hell.

Yeah, he is a putts. I am a survival junky and half the shit that guy does will get you killed. I did see him start a fire using the spark plug from a snow mobile. That was pretty clever. He tried spear fishing without carving barbs in the tips of his spear and the fish kept falling off. Ha ha ha ha

I'm no survival expert, but some of the stuff he does really has me scratching my head and thinking wtf? He does have some good tips and techniques sometimes, but other times...??? The lack of barbs on the fishing spear was a good example; layering the leaves on his teepee's roof from top to bottom; wasting time and energy fishing in a clear, shallow stream that you could see has no fish in it (using a safety pin for a hook... good luck keeping a fish on a springy, barbless safety pin); chasing a wild boar around with a sharp stick while wearing that stupid helmet cam (so the film crew won't spook his prey)... btw, he's never actually hunted down and killed anything using that method; etc.

I'm pretty sure that most people see this guy (along with Bear) and realize he's more about entertainment than he is pure survival knowledge.

One of Bear's moves that I always find amusing is that in his survival situations, he's ok with free climbing cliffs to see what's on the other side. One time he swam under a log jam without knowing how far it was to the other side (supposedly). You DO NOT swim under log jambs not knowing if you'll ever be able to surface again!

Hey... he did drink the water from an elephant turd. He deserves points for that!

But, now that I think about it, maybe it was just a sponge full of fresh chocolate milk. ;)
