I totally missed on picking those two up which I would have gladly paid triple what the OP was asking.
Stuff like that can happen but if you read the rest of the thread, it's a pretty big outlier.

 

Believe it or not, I actually saw that ad before Ryan and passed it over, as I'm just a casual collector of the ones that tickle my humor. I would of bought them, but I'm not here to profit.



If I see the Derp or Choco... I might bite based on price.

I get you, though. There have been a couple patches that I saw and was like, "Oh, that's a cool design! I wonder how hard it would be to get..." Only to find out the going rate was like 500 dollars or something. Eh, maybe I'll hold off on that purchase.

Just trying to help out. Patches are collectibles and some, like an original non-vintage Apollo 13 mission patch or something else super rare and sought after, can fetch into the thousands.

 

Oh man, you missed out when I put some hold backs up on my site at original drop prices... Including Choco and Derp! But only like one or two that were hiding in my box of extras that originally were held back in case of missing packages or something. Don't know why I kept them so long but have been slowly reducing the inventory to truly sell out the older ones.

I have been doing that on Tuesdays when there's a drop or not if I'm not busy with other crap (trade show last week, cat that had surgery this week, going to Oregon next week, etc.).
Sometimes it pays to lurk my site for goodies.

That's great marketing. I usually visit your and @MESO website randomly to see what's going on.

The only patch that I've jumped on immediately was the screaming palm Santa Cruze Taco... I've always loved that logo. Most of the others I've picked up second hand.

Yeah I started out with some simple ones not knowing anything about there actually being a high class patch market. I have never really collected anything either except cars and G. I. Joes when I was a little kid. (Then in my 20's I started collecting 4runners lol.) I am blown away by some of the patch work though. I have actually had some people help me find the things I am looking for on here too that go out of their way. I love coming on here and seeing what people are interested in and maybe getting a sale or a trade.

 

Just got a Choco Taco (thanks @mtip)... Also wandered onto your website and convinced myself that I needed to get the monochrome taco. I figured it matched my MGM and was a must.

Keep up the cool designs. Definitely one of my favorite patch collections.

Oregon is where I'm from. Grew up on the Coast in Newport, lived in Eugene for 4 years and PDX for another 4. Love all of it. This trip is a *me* trip to see my best friend who still lives in the home town and also spend a few days in Eugene. Gonna be cold compared to Arizona! That's where my handle comes from in case anyone was wondering...

The Taco thing is actually explained in the description of my plain taco on my site. I just wanted a "plain" one but none out there were suitable for my headliner so one thing lead to another and v1 was born. And then v2... And v3... Ad nauseam, LOL!

Have plenty of ideas taco related and will stubbornly keep making other designs of my choosing because I just like the creative side of making patches. Some work, some flail, but to me it's all fun.

 

I just assumed you were a huge fan of Oreo Cookies.
