What other parts would I need?

Hello! I will be buying my first truck soon. I have spent a few weeks here researching so bare with me, I just want to confirm everything I think i've learned and make sure im not missing anything... heres what i want to start with:

    Sr5 2wheel
    2" leveling kit with 32s
    new wheels/tires

goals: decent mpg daily driver / light trails / looking cool without spending $4k+ on a lift/35s

    questions:
    1) Aside from the actual wheels/tires/leveling kit, are there any other parts i would need to buy?
    2) Will i need a regear for this?
    3) If not needed, would a regear still make it better in any way?
    4) what rim size? (suggestions of cool looking wheel/tire combos are appreciated!!)

    Thanks!

You don't need a lift to fit 265/75r16

I agree with Grossmotto... get a truck, try it out on some trails and go from there. If you find it lacking in some way, it'll be much easier to decide on how to mod it.

Wheels and tires are an aesthetic thing and there's a million opinions on here. SCS wheels or the OEM Toyota Sema wheels tend to be the most popular around here.

One last thing, before you pull the trigger on a 2WD, do some searches here on the forum. There's been a few people who've bought a 2WD truck and quickly regretted not getting a 4x4. Even if you never use it or need it, it's nice to have and it helps with resale.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!

Keep stock tire size just put good tires on it. If it has running boards take them off and it will appear as a lil lift. This was you won’t have to worry about regear, speedometer recalibrate, and still retain the warranty if it has one

thanks for the replies, i appreciate the stock sentiment but i mainly just want new wheels for the looks, i dont like the basic silver rim look. I like the leveled look too.

All i would need to buy is the wheels and tires, right? anything im missing??

I'm a total noob and couldnt find a question this simple on the forums lol

I agree with others at looking into a 4x4. I live in Florida so I barely use my 4x4 but it is there if I need it.

Your truck is at its most reliable as it is, tires make a big difference, I'm rolling stock with 265/70/17 BFG

Get black “off-road” wheels like fuels for looks and aggressive but good tires like k02s or duratrac

Yes, leveling is just as easy 2wd vs 4wd.

4wd stock will get you where you need to go. It's worth the investment up front. Get wheels and tires whenever

I agree. You can put the best tires on a 2wd and not get where a 4wd can get with road tires

Welcome. You got conflicting priorities: good looks and good mileage. Which is more important?

These are a very popular wheel around here...

    https://www.*****************.com/o...ruiser-tacoma-oem-ptr20-35110-bk-ptr2035110bk

Additionally, they are likely to go on a 20% sale this week for Black Friday.

Assuming you go with a 265/70/17 or smaller tire, these will bolt up with no modifications. Depending on the wheels your truck comes with, you may need to buy different lug nuts (mag vs acorn).
