    Mishimoto thermostat, day 4. P0128.

Ambient temps have been pretty mild this week (60-70). With A/C on the E-Fan runs @ minimum 60% speed and coolant temp sensor reports 161. With A/C off, E-fan cycles as needed and temp sits between 166-169.

Repair manual states 167 minimum temp after a predetermined warm up period. Maybe the Mishimoto opening temp is too low.

These are just a couple of the first ones that come to mind. I'm sure that there's a myriad of other little tweeks that'll need to happen as well.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I was watching some live data on my Creader this morning coming into work and both sensors appear to be operating normally. They are both around 3.3V at idle and vary slightly throughout different driving conditions. On a steady pull under mild load at highway speeds I was seeing up to .16mA on the Bank 2 sensor and .8 Lambda at about 6psi boost. I still see some ridiculous long term fuel trims at 28-33% though on both banks. Not sure how that is calculated including open and closed loop perhaps. I will do some data collection with HP Tuner and see if I can't make more sense of it. At this point in time though, I don't feel like I am lean and am seeing consistent results on both banks. I feel like the O2 sensor is getting worn out and exceeding parameters every now and then to trip the code.

That was my initial thoughts. I'm moving the truck too quickly under freeway circumstances to get better fuel economy benefits. 16 sounds about right if I left off some and would love to do that speed but godddd these California drivers are wild on the highway and you cannot go the normal speeds anymore at all.

If the issue happens at idle then the issue is an idle exclusive issue, as whatever is happening is likely within proper parameter under loads.

You are going to need to get me info under the same conditions as when the light occurred and when it is at idle is when you can see what you need to see.

28-33% under load is not normal especially if you are HP tuned as Justin does not leave trucks dirty like that under load especially with a 2-6/ 2.7 pulley I see +-0% under load with my tiny 2.3 just to give you an idea of where I'm at, and if you are seeing that on both banks then it is more likely that you are looking at a crap MAF before a singular AFR sensor.

    Let me know.

I draft big rigs and get 25. Why? Because everyday there’s traffic in the exact same spots over and over and over. Don’t want to fight idiots to get to the traffic slightly quicker.

Over the last couple years my commute has gradually gone from 1 hour to 2. I really don’t care anymore. 2 hours to travel, what, 20 miles? Absurd.

(These are non rush hour times btw)

I would draft the hell out of big rigs, but I really don't want to deal with the rock chips and cracks in my windshield which are associated in doing so.

    Trade offs I suppose eh?

I don’t think he’s worried about rock chips from drafting big rigs at 10mph.

80 is peppered with so much garbage and endless gravel trucks that my front end would end up like a cheese grater following a bicycle. Gravel trucks and the associated drivers are the cancer of 80. Not only do they drive with uncovered cargo but they also drive like the biggest douche bags.

I’d be happier if I were moving at 10 mph the whole way. It’s clearing the traffic that takes an eternity. The pointless stupid traffic that’s caused by bad outdated highway design.

The 80 is not THAT bad. Let's not be overdramatic here. (We save the overdramatics for me) :D

I agree.. but then again the general bay area highway system is outdated and in serious need of a revamping all around. All of the highways are pretty much overcrowded garbage now.

He said 20 miles in 2 hours. Just some quick math, not trying to be over dramatic

Doing that will certainly shut that MIL up. But, there’s more happening there. There’s adders and adjustments all over the place that are based on the coolant getting over 176°. If you don’t adjust those, it’s not going to run right. Essentially, If you’re under set temp, it results in a no closed loop situation.

I understand what you’re saying. The DTC just set this morning so I haven’t really had time to look into it yet.

20 miles in 2 hours! Why not get a bicycle? The weather in Cali would permit 90% of the time.

Ahh. I didn't see 20 miles in 2 hours. Well still. I'll be overdramatic just because it's fun. :D
