Our dog was going for a stick next to another dog and it didn't like it. He ended up with a bunch of puncture wounds. No experience with this. Normally I'd just keep an eye on them, but the vets office is closed until Monday so I'm thinking I should probably take him in. Anyone have advice?

Picture is of the deepest, but there's 5-6 actual punctures. He's acting totally fine. Wife said he didn't even react to the dog, just really wanted the stick, lol.

The wounds need to be flushed at minimum. Antibiotics are also recommended but it sounds like you would have to go to an emergency vet since yours is closed. sorry to hear

That's what I'm thinking. She cleaned it really good. Normal vet will allow us to come in today after I get home.

If you have contact info for the owner of the offending dog, make sure they had all the vaccine records up to date.

    Hoping for a smooth recovery

    I would go for sure.

By flush I mean they really should be flushed on the inside of wound with a syringe and saline.

He was. We know them well. Dogs have played together since puppies. He's always been protective of things, but today was the first time we've seen any aggression from him.

Scully's most exciting part of the week is the one morning each week when we ask him if he’s ready to go see his friends (day care). He goes nuts and if don’t get out the door ASAP he whines.

Last week the XRays knocked me to my knees. Full blown kidney cancer. Surgery was not an option. This morning he stopped eating and drinking. This afternoon I helped my best friend cross the rainbow bridge. RIP Bubba I will see you again one day.E7575A9A-F049-4F3E-8E1C-E89C6374F2AC.jpg
