    I'm rural definitely.

    I have a wood stove and several cords in the racks in reserve. Cut and split by myself.
    Generator, guns & ammo (of course).
    State Forest in walking distance out my back door.
    Lots of canned and dried food.
    But that's just cuz Mrs Gritto is a couponer...and maybe a bit of a hoarder. :rolleyes:
    We can happily wait out power outages...and have on occasion.

    Some urban people evidently think that's a bit crazy.
    To that I say it's merely a much older lifestyle that has become unfashionable to some people.
    And there are many compensations...

Also, we do have everything you've mentioned though our forest isn't quite out our back door, but we're not the typical Californian.
