My new 2020 Tacoma came with the security glass break system, where if the glass is broken an alarm sounds. The problem is that when people walk by the truck, my very protective Queensland Healer dog goes crazy and barks and attacks the door and window, which then sets off the car alarm. She can be quite loud.

Does anyone know how to turn the system off or possibly adjust the settings to make it less sensitive? Thanks!

Bark collar (sarcastic, please don't give the dog a bark collar)? Sorry, I don't have a better answer.

Find out what alarm is installed, (call, visit dealer). It might have something similar to this to adjust.

Thanks Caribe Makaira (and, uh, everyone else for their contributions! :)). Can you please give me an approx area where this dial might be located? I'm struggling to find it via web. Thanks.

I think there’s a way to set the alarm without the interior or glass break sensor arming? If so that would be the way to go when the dog is on board.

Without knowing what alarm system with glass sensor the Tacoma has, it's a guess. Can be behind the glovebox or under dash in drivers side...

I would suggest a trip to the stealer so you can keep out of warranty issues should they arise. But if you're brave enough to dig underneath the dash as most of us here are, the video below should be a guide, It's not the same year, but the alarm principles don't usually change.

    Cheers

if it’s the Toyota OEM it doesn’t have that dial. You can disable the glass break sensor by unplugging it, or by disabling it with Techstream, both will still leave the alarm enabled for other functions. The glass break sensor is behind the drivers side kick panel. If you google “Tacoma 2016 glass break sensor install pdf” you’ll see where / how it’s installed and simply reverse to disable.
