Tinted or not

Ok i got a dumb question. Does the 2016 Tacoma Trd come with a tinted front windshield? Stupid
Question I know right. Well Reason I ask is I got stopped today and the officer said u can't have your front windshield
Tinted. I said officer I bought the truck from the Toyota dealership just as u see it and he of course more less called me a liar
And said that they don't come or offer tinted front windshields that the tint has been added. Now surely u would b able to tell if there has been to tint applied as u can on all the other windows. Well long story short I got a ticket for speeding as well as improper
Equipment"tint on front windshield". When I ask him what do I do about it he tells me remove the tint well how do u do that officer his response was I don't know what to tell u other than remove it

In most states having windshield tint is illegal. No cars come from the factory with a tint on the windshield. The only cars I’ve seen with a factory coating on the windshield is LandRover with their anti-UV / Polarizing coating. Just get the tint removed

I think OP was saying that he doesn’t actually have tint.

 

I got my front windshield tinted (eye browns) but I drive like an old man lol.

 

If it has tint, take it to the dealership to remove it and explain to them that they need to make it right.

If it doesn’t, go to court and politely explain that the officer was simply mistaken and bring some sort of proof statement from the dealer showing when you bought it and that it had no tint.

 

Did you buy the truck new or used?
If new it will not have tint on the windshield. If used, its very possible.

Or the cop was wrong and it looked tinted (were you pulled over when it was overcast or dark?) You would definitely know if your windshield was tinted as soon as you got in that car.

Was the truck new or used? Could it have been tinted by the previous owner?

What’s wrong with windshield tint?

 

I see plenty of cars and trucks/suv around here with windshield tints. It's def illegal but people still do it. Just like having a dark tint on the front and passenger side windows is illegal in some states Indiana must be 30 percent or higher but I've always run 15 to 20 percent and never had issues. Depends on how much of a dick the cop wants to be.

 

Get out and start removing the windshield and make him watch.

Then go back to the dealer for the windshield TSB for bad tint
