i have seen several posts on high idle at start up. mine does this. but what i have not seen anyone talk about is this........
after pushing in the clutch it remains at a high rpm when moving over 10 mph.
EXAMPLE: when coming to a stop sign, i usually take it out of gear and coast to the stop. the idle will remain high until i fall below 5 mph. another example. if im going down the highway, i can take it out of gear and coast and again the idle speed will not drop down to a normal idle(800 rpm) until i fall below 5 mph.
    IS THIS NORMAL?
    thanks,

Ive noticed mine has a higher idle while slowing down in neutral until almost coming to a stop. I think this is normal

Does this happen all the time or just when the engine is cool?

Happens all the time for me. If im approaching a red light and i shift into neutral, it holds the idle higher until ive almost come to a complete stop. I have a 2009 5spd 2.7L and a 2013 6spd 4.0L for reference. Ive noticed it in both tacos

I only recall it doing this in my 2005 2.7 PreRunner. But only when the engine was cool.
Than again, I haven’t owned that truck since 2010.
    So, maybe I have forgotten?

Not sure but if it isnt causing you any drivability issues, i wouldnt sweat it. Im willing to bet it has something to do with the tuning/ecu. You could always clean your MAF sensor and throttle body and see if that helps it out any

My 08 V6 6MT does this as well. It’s done it as long as I’ve had it seems like. I do have a P0174/P0171 bank 1/2 lean codes though. I’ve just been to lazy to do the URD fuel pump mod. I’ve blamed it on that with the motor trying to get extra fuel with the lean codes.
