Wondering if you guys could tell me if this gen 1 tacoma is worth buying? It has 113,000 miles, is a 96 regular cab, 5 spd, but is rwd. I wanted a 4x4 but may end up settling.

Dealer wants 6650 including ttl. I like it but don't know if I should just pull the trigger on this or find a 4x4. Help. Lol

Looks clean! Dealer would always be on the higher side.

Yea it's pretty clean which is what drew me toward it. You see the sticker price lol, so I was able to haggle down some but they won't budge off the 6650. They also said they would replace the brakes and rotors since they don't seem to have been changed since 96 lol.

Buy once, cry once. Get what you really want. Life is short... enjoy it while you can in a vehicle that’s everything you want.

It's a 5 lug so be ready to do the lifts for 5 lugs if you building that way. I love my 5 lug but some people bitch about their limited options going the "high" route versus low

Personally? No. Unless you were looking for a 4cyl standard cab stick shift, there is nothing appealing about that truck. Way to small, matte black paint is hit or miss, i wouldn't want it, but that's me. If 4x4 is even on the table just go find one. Mileage isnt a concern, they last well over 250k with basic maintenance. 500k with some love and tender care.

Looks like the price is about double what the last few months of sales data is showing for purchase prices.
And to me it also seems ridiculous high of a price. But that's just my opinion of it. Screenshot_20191127-165915.jpg

Man I do want 4x4 but it really isn't necessary I guess. This venture started off with needing a little truck for work and my price range and "needs" keep increasing lol. I guess I should have mentioned I have a new 4runner that I have plans of modding. This was going to be my work/daily. But the more I was looking the more I guess I wanted 4x4 because I'm sure I won't be leaving it stock. It's a tough choice. But I agree this particular truck is priced high, however, when I search for similar years they are the same price with twice the amount of miles.

Really I just want to stay under the 8k price range and there isn't much for 4x4 in that price range.

I mean if you're fine with the price; the truck looks well maintained from pics and it is fairly low miles. If it's gonna be a daily you can still lift and make it how you want it personally. I wouldn't see myself buying a 4x4 just for a daily lol

if you want 4x4, get 4x4

As for 4x4s being out of your budget, be patient, good deals do sometimes pop up

Actually found this truck on cars.com app.
Again was from an owner not a dealer.
I would not buy a 20+ year old truck from any dealer. They really know nothing about the history.
They also do the one thing that pisses me off the most... they take out the floor mats!!! The floor mats tell so much about the way the truck was treated.
