Would depend on the tune they have. Want to address it on a case by case to make sure we’re looking in the right direction.

Is it possible to get the trd tune from hptuners and download into a non-trd ecu? Interested in knowing how to get expanded tables if something like the harrop comes out

Different CAL all together, you need to flash the TRD cal via mongoose cable etc to get your ECU to TRD "spec" then you can have the expanded tables. Realistically the expanded tables really offer us NA'd guys nothing.

You’d have to convert the ECU to the TRD Calibration ID with Techstream. Then reformat the axes to make use of the additional axis breakpoints to gain resolution.

    It’s pretty simple stuff really.

The only problem is you’ll need a window switch to activate/deactivate the ACIS solenoid so you don’t gut your low end torque. I can point you in the direction for a window switch that is RPM/TPS triggered so you can mimic the OEM control.

I can go into more detail if you’d like, but that’s the jist of it.

Ah yes thats true, you loose ACIS functionality with the TRD cal... and my tests show DRASTIC differences below 4000-4100 rpms with and without acis.

i figured it didnt offer much with being NA currently. was more curious if one of these other companies come out with a TVS supercharger how it would work with hptuner seeing as the expanded table would then be a benefit
    all good

I’d agree, that for a standard engine with bolt ons, the stock N/A cals have enough resolution to get the job done.

A built N/A motor that revs, with cams and the like might benefit, but I’m not sure anyone is venturing down that path.

If the TVS blowers make their way into the single vvti 1GR, the stock TRD cal would be good starting point. That’s what I’d use for any setup producing boost.

Very true, increased resolution could be beneficial in an NA case like described, but thats so few and far between that I think those people are likely to go full standalone.

Moved over from the other thread to more appropriate thread.

    @BillDaCat8 @JustDSM

I found this table and these are the stock values. If this is to be believed, then closed loop is enabled at considerably lower temp than thermostat regulating temp. Need to dig more, but this is a start.

    My shit is all stock.
Referencing closed/open-loop was a short cut I took this afternoon while typing one handed (Patty melt in the other hand) on my phone during my lunch break.

There are many adjustments that need to happen to do this temp change right. Some may not even be defined (yet) in VCM editor. I found yet another whilst perusing tonight.
    upload_2019-11-27_19-8-42.jpg

The throttle learning is another that I know will not work until 176 degrees. I can't seem to find an adjustment for that though. That may not yet be a defined adjustment yet.

If someone really wanted to do it NA, they could run a 4runner upper mani. No ACIS. I wonder how that would perform.
