Looking to add some lights to my truck for when I go camping in the desert. Nothing crazy. I don't want light bar or pods. something clean and simple. what set up do you guys have? here are some of my choices so far.

Since you show it in the top pic, by far my favorite light upgrade is replacing the headlights with HID projectors. I feel this really improved safety as much on road as offroad. I have a set of 2” projector fogs that I converted to 3500k HID that hide perfectly behind the rectangular slots in the lower shroud but haven’t mounted them yet. Am also looking at the threads here for ideas. BD has $50 black friday and 10% off w BDforums if useful.

this is my 96 4X4 in cabo. the driving lights mounted in the bumper are aimed at the side of the road and the pencil beams mounted on the bumper are aimed down the road. The "side of the road" lights are aimed that way because burros, horses, cows, skunks etc love to dart out in front of you at the last second and going 45 mph and hitting a horse that you didnt see... what a mess. I didnt spend too much in $ either.

    Tasteful modifications :)
I personally like going about front lighting with a light bar rather then older Style lights. Light bars or LED lights are much more efficient and have much more light output so they make more sense to have. My setup for my light bar is weird one that I’ve never seen anyone do before, but hey it works for me.
