Sigma SW40VE

I've put about 500 rounds through my .40. I noticed that the gun shoots up and right about 3-4" from about 10 yards. I know its not just me "pulling" because I have had several friends experience the same issue with my gun. Correcting for this is becoming a pain.

Any suggestions for sighting corrections would be appreciated. The sights are fixed, so no easy adjustments that I know of.

I know this is a inexpensive gun, so comments like "buy a better gun" are not necessary. I have owned inexpensive guns in the past that shoot very accurately.

 

3" to 4" off at 10 yards is a lot.

Three suggestions:

1) Try several different types/ brands of rounds. Some guns like certain rounds better than others... even two of the same gun.

2) Keep shooting the same rounds, buy a laser grip and never worry about it again. As long as it keeps hitting in the exact same spot (even if it's not where your fixed sights are pointed), a laser will fix your problem.

3) Take it to a gunsmith who KNOWS his/ her stuff and get them to work it for you.


I personally would go with option 2. In an emergency you just put the dot on the target and squeeze. Plus, it's one less thing to worry about in a low light situation. From my experience, Sigmas aren't bad guns.

 

I forgot another option...

Send it to S&W and let them know what's going on. They may be able to get it dead nuts on for you. They do a good job when they rework/ slick up their guns.

Smith makes these as through away guns, after a few hundred rounds you will find all types of problems, springs, feeding, and being able to hit your target down range...
