    That's the rumor.
Weather like this makes me miss living in the Farmington area; my parents woke up to 6 inches of snow this morning. I woke up to a fully thawed driveway thanks to a driving rainstorm last night. So if we DO get snow on Sunday...plowing will be more of a 'grading' exercise unless I'm really careful to float the plow at the correct height.

Looks like we’re getting 5” Sunday night and 5” Monday. I did see that we’re getting into the high teens Saturday night.

should probably go make sure the snow blower starts.

We are on the edge for rain/snow as well. Looking towards all snow, I'm really hoping things get frozen before I have to go out.

We're looking like a solid 'snow' event for Sunday night/Monday, but at this point they're just guessing. Fortunately, after today we're supposed to be in the teens overnight and low 30's during the day until then, so with a little luck things will firm back up enough for me to avoid digging in when I plow. One thing about this new setup is that even with the shoe kit the plow is heavy enough (1000lbs) that if the ground isn't frozen solid for at least a few inches down it'll break through and dig in, and the truck has enough torque that I don't notice right away.

Yeah so unless it's low 20's or so you might be in trouble. I just picked up a 3pt snow blower, it has shoes, but I might just keep it a little bit higher so I don't accidentally dig in and just do enough to drive in and out. The weather doesn't seem like things are going to stay frozen for more than a day or so, then more rain etc...

I'm ready for the final freeze, but I think it might be on and off until Christmas or later. Aren't the almanacs calling for a mild start to winter?

The bird is in the oven, the dough is rising for rolls, I've got gravy base simmering on the cookstove, corn defrosting in the sink, and last night I made two pies, a batch of cranberry relish, and baked 4 squash. So now all I need to do is remember to put the potatoes in an hour before the bird is done

Ugh... I wish. Unfortunately, that's the bad part about having to go somewhere for Thanksgiving dinner.

Not yet. I already had a case of beer an 6 bottles of wine...I had to draw the line somewhere.

That's why you marry a sipper. One glass of wine and then she's good. We'll always confirm "You driving or me?"
I'm baking a pie on my weber genesis because the oven is packed full. It's holding 325F like a champ.

Opened up an Islay souvenir for turkey day. Figured I should sample some (to make sure it hadn't gone bad, you know).

It was more for 'time' reasons that I made them last night. We're hosting and we have people coming over early today, so I did a bunch of the ancillaries ahead of time so that I can be social with our friends/family rather than just spending all day working in the kitchen.

Every Thanksgiving my Great-Grandfather would bring a bottle of Islay scotch with him (he was born near Port Ellen), and after he died my Grandfather kept doing it. Now my dad and I are continuing the tradition in their memory. :notsure:

    that’s awesome!

the only tradition we have is my brother and I gift the same bottle of wine back and forth every Christmas. Its a bottle of “Sauvignyoouuk” wine commemorating the 2004 Red Sox Championship. We’re pretty creative with the boxing.

In our relationship, I'm pretty sure I'm the 'sipper' in most cases... Her family lives out here so we usually go there for holidays and when all the aunts get together, the wine flows pretty quick. I'm usually the driver so I tend not to drink when we go out. When we stay home and people come to us on the other hand... That's when I get to raid the wet bar!
