Which kit? My normal Pitman puller worked well on one lbj but I had to mill a new smaller one for the other and I’m still not happy with the fit.

i looked up a pitman puller tool @ HF for about $15 will fit into tight spaces (not as much as i was expecting!), will that be inadequate for this procedure

Nice photos, tackling this tomorrow. Looks like I'll go rent a puller, looks like it'll save a bunch of time!

If you're talking about this one: - I suspect that would work. I bought mine at Advance Auto for $16, it has approximately the same size opening.

Yep. It's a required tool for front end work IMO.

Pickle fork+BFH will work too if you want to replace things since they tend to rip boots.

the only reason to run a rear mount turbo is because it sounds awesome.

The “diesel turbo” sound is what I want. I’m not sure if you can achieve this with a front mount setup on a small gas motor like the 3.4.

Can you explain why front vs rear mount would make it sound any different?

What’s the difference between front vs rear mount, Ryan? I’m pretty clueless when it comes to turbos.

A bunch of the same stuff everybody else has already done.
Getting closer... finally starting lift tomorrow. Took apart the Dakar leaf pack and added the AAL, Got the shackles built up and popped out the stock OME front eye bushing and replaced it with the grease-able day star one. Next pics will be progress shots of the install! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

    Pros.

The rear mount is in the place of the muffler, which is why it sounds the way it does, and does not require intercooler. It also does not require replacing the exhaust manifold. But I’m sure headers would help.

    cons,

downside it is less efficient because turbos work better with hot exhaust gas with high velocity and the intake needs more bends and restrictions to get it out for under the vehicle.

i must've missed this one or it was deleted :crapstorm:

anyways, i am in one unusually un-foul mood today for some reason to fight back or whatever

i thought that @Gen1FTMFW pictures, etc. were very helpful to educate me and maybe at least one other member on TW that may not know all that much about some of this stuff
... definitely became a little bit less of a noob from his post on LBJ
