I don’t often do a lot of highway trips. When I do, I always start off with the intent of chilling at a moderate speed. Everyone else is hauling ass and some how I end up making a wrong turn and wind up doing 100 MPH somewhere in Mexico.

No money. Also caltrans already proposed redesigning the MacArthur maze but the idea quickly got shut down. But I won’t get into that in fear of getting banned.

There’s times where I detour over toward the concord/WC area then back toward Oakland and then to SF and it’s still just as fast as sticking to 80. The GGB route is also always wide open, but you have to pay two tolls.

We got the first rain of the year yesterday and it took me damn near 2:45 to get home. Again, well after rush hour during a week where most people would have gone on vacation already.

Also I drive my mom home so a bicycle isn’t an option. Also the trans bay bus is $5 last I checked. Our subway system is full of crackheads and weirdos so that’s out of the question and also the reason why I drive my mom home.

Sometime after everyone put the FJ one on their Tacoma’s, they came out with the correct size for the Tacoma. The FJ one fits just fine and easier if you use the fj fan shroud(then there will be no cutting)

I think the only clearance issue is/was the trans line issue. The ones that got it know it’s an easy fix by hand bending the line subtlety

something to look at would be maf sensor. i was constantly reading 18-21% added fuel. could not figure it out. i got a code for my maf sensor, so i replaced it and that number dropped drastically. i would not try cleaning it. i did that to mine and it had no change.

Interesting......when I was looking at the radiators I thought it said the fj radiator was 1 row B-tube and the Tacoma was 2 row B-tube.
    I must have misread it.

Strange that the Tacoma version is actually a smaller rad but is priced $100 higher. I guess you pay $100 extra for the privilege of reusing your existing shroud and reservoir and not having to use your fingers to tweak the transmission cooler line.

I’m thinking of gettting the fj one and making it work. No tranny lines for me and saving $100 for a bigger radiator sounds good to me.

Just get the cheap Chinese FJ shroud and coolant tank. That’s what I did (before I went e-fan) and they fit great.

You didn't misread. I remember seeing the same thing posted several times in the CSF All Aluminum Performance Radiator For our trucks FINALLY!!! thread, but I think the the 1-row claim regarding the FJ version was eventually discovered to be false or a typo.

Trying to spread the gtr tax around is what I believe csf is doing. I haven't done much research but I was leaning towards the afe rad when its released. Idk if its the same size as the csf or smaller/larger but I think it'll fit better under the afe scoop than the csf.

one thing about the aftermarket fj shroud compared to oem. aftermarket does not have a notch at the bottom allowing it to slip into place around the fan as easy as oem. ive done both to see. i got an aftermarket one and a used oem overflow tank.

I have the Fj one. Have had it for almost a year. Fits like a glove (once my 4yo helped me bend the trans lines). I had to spend about $100 on FJ parts to make it fit. The taco one is newer why I guess it’s not on sale. I don’t know if anyone has a head to head comparison between the two.
