    Should work on both.

Your tracing is all I need. I just want to test fit one before I burn one out. You could lay your bracket on top of my drawing that would work also. I still have to drawing in the step out on the bracket. Right now I'm just concerned with the shape and bolt hole alignment.

The new ones (maybe just the non-TRD branded one from Magnuson) needs to have the place in the casting drilled out and tapped.

I think I can pick up a free TRD. supercharger. The guy said somethings wrong with it. But it’s free. It does have the part that bolts to the support bracket. Can those be swapped. One thing I noticed is when the truck is running in neutral/parking brake, the hood is up and I press on the s/C with my palm, I hear a rattle sound. What is that?

Likely just needs a rebuild. Spend the ~$900 to get it rebuilt and sell it for a couple grand, more if its a complete setup

Icon/TC Mid travel, TRD S/C, PNP Greddy EMU, 625cc injectors, 2.2 pulley, Hayden tranny cooler, AEM wideband, TRD boost gauge.
I see two reasons for modders/tinkeres to get a 1st Gen over 2nd. There is a write up out there of a guy opening up the adapter housing and fitting a trans cooler in there to make it water intercooled just like the newer TRD blowers or even like the new Supra. 2nd, looks much easier to modify the bypass to handle much more air, good for a twin charged setup and/or for those of us that want to bypass in high rpm use cases where we don't want boost.

I had my 1st gen ported as shown below,
1st gen can be ported inside the intake because it’s a two section, 2nd gen in one piece and can’t be opened up, So the 1st gen can make more power at higher rpms and doesn’t stall out or go flat on the power curve like the 2nd gen supercharger.

I just found this thread so I thought I'd post up what I'm thinking and let you guys tell me your opinions. I've got 130,000 miles on the engine and auto trans and I seem to be making good power, not burning any fluids, and the engine has good compression. I plan to purchase and install the URD combo kit with a 2.2" pulley. I want something simple and hassle-free and I think the 7th injector is the way to go there. It was brought to my attention that I would want to install a Transgo kit in my transmission to help with the boost. I live in Texas, so most of my driving is below 1,000' MSL, but I do take rare trips up to the Rocky mountains. Also on my list of things I'm considering is a new fuel filter and injector cleaning.

I guess I have 5 days to make a decision before the sale times out.

    Yes.
Yes and yes - should do a cleaning/flow test on the injectors to ensure a good starting point.

I live at 500ft elevation and frequently go up into the mountains at least 2-3 times a month (up to about 10k ft). You'll be fine especially if you do the preventative maintenance you're describing. I do have to drive more carefully closer to sea level, but I don't mean I have to baby it or anything. Just have to be more aware of when I go WOT and be sure to back off the throttle if you notice any issues. People that blow the motors in these engines under boost are the ones that ignore the warning signs. Get yourself an AFR gauge to monitor your Wideband AFRs.

Ah yes, the AFR gauge is on my list too. I forgot to mention that. I don't find myself flooring the pedal very often, so if I'm making another 50HP I doubt I'd change that habit....After the newness wears off of course

lol yeah I get bad enough MPG as it is so I don't race around like a bat out of hell...plus my truck is so weighed down with stuff that even with the supercharger it pretty much feels like an N/A Tacoma, I'm not fooling anyone by saying it's "fast" and I am skeptical of most people on here that say theirs is 'fast' unless it's highly modified and lightweight.

The supercharger makes this truck more enjoyable to drive, and it is an enjoyable experience as a whole to piece together something that works out to increase your performance in a noticeable way. But we aren't driving Corvettes here that's for sure

Sounds spot on with what I want. I could use some more passing power and better performance for the occasional high altitude trip. I’m not looking to turn into a tuner and try to crank out every horsepower possible. I just want a reliable bump in power

When someone gets a chance and the supercharger is still warm after driving remove the belt from the tensioner and turn the pulley back and forth.

when cold I get no noise when hot I hear a tap back and forth but it turn freely with no play at all. I’ve already talked to a few rebuilders and was told I it’s probably fine. I’m just curious what everyone’s experience is.

3" lift, 5100 all four corners. AAL. 285/75.
Ok, so I've read this whole thread. And I've wanted a supercharger for about as long as I've know they've existed, really wanted one for my '99 2.7L, and I feel like it's actually a reality for my '04 3.4L.

I live at 10'500 feet in Colorado at the moment. Truck runs pretty well for the most part. Pushing 200k. I'm getting between 17 and 19 per gallon since I moved to Colorado. Used to be lower, but I was closer to sea level in the land of rotting salt. In chatting with some of the automaker guys that are always up here in Summit County testing new models and dialing their ECU's, the reason the mileage goes up, up here is because the combustion temps are much cooler due to the thinner air. But, much less power.

I really want to get a blower just to have a bit more punch up these passes that I have to drive everyday. Sometimes I can roll up them at a decent clip, but more times than not, it just takes one driver to be camped out in the left lane, and that's it...I'm in third holding it at around 50 the rest of the way. I'm pushing 33's (285/75's) Not sure what my gearing is.

I know I say this now, but I don't want to chase the rabbit. I'm sniffing up the ass of 44 years old, and just want to keep this truck indefinitely, and have it hold it's it's own a bit better up these grades up here.

So long winded, but here are my questions...

Can I achieve what I'm going for 'without' needing to still chase the rabbit in order to keep things running well?

Can I make my own methonol mix? @1997tacomav6 I know you've mentioned that regular off the shelf stuff is not made with distilled. What's to stop us from mixing our own with distilled water? Just throwing that out there, and I figure you've already considered this, hence why I ask.

With a stock pulley, and generally living in the range of 2k to 2.5k but pushing up to 3.5k in third when running it up to 50-50+mph, am I going to be in the area of boost that I'm reading you guys are trying to avoid? Thus almost negating the charger, and or sticking my head and wallet in the hole, looking for Peter Cottontail?

    Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving all.
