Ok, call me cynical, overly cautious, paranoid or whatever... but here it goes.

It seems to me that certain threads in this section should either be avoided or discussed very, very carefully. I personally would never list all the guns I own on a public forum such as this. I'm not saying that anyone here is a thief, but you never know. Criminals can be pretty damn creative.

Scenario: I list the gun(s) I own and discuss them in great detail... custom work, value, etc. Then I sell an inexpensive truck item in the WTB/ WTS/ WTT section. If someone is really motivated to come break into my home and still my shit, they buy the item and now they have my address. Now, they have my address and a list of the gun(s) I own. Remember, I'm not saying this would happen, but there is the remote possibility this could happen. Why take that chance, even if it is a small one?

The second thing I see in this forum that I would be concerned about is the zeal that some have shown about shooting someone in various situations. I'm all for protecting myself/ my family. But if you happen to be unlucky enough to be put in that situation that you do have to take an intruder's life, it's very possible that the comments you made on this public forum like... "Just come out blazin' and sort through everything later" may come back to bite you in the ass when you get taken court by the thug's family.

All the scumbag's family lawyer has to do is present your comment and say "Your Honor... this statement shows that Mr. X was just a gun crazy nut job who was itching to kill someone. He didn't have to kill so-n-so, but chose to anyway." Then you could end up in a world of shit.

Like I said, call me paranoid, but some things shouldn't be posted online for the world (and lawyers) to have access to. Now, has anyone seen my tinfoil hat?

    They can come.
    They can try.
    They will all die.

My guns are in a safe, my house is alarmed, 300 yds from a police station and guarded by two Pitbulls and ninjas.

I agree... way too much testosterone in some of the posts, and way too much info given out. God forbid one of the proud posters is actually involved in an incident... the "$10,000 per bullet fired" maxim could be thrown out the window.

Oh, we were supposed to be posting real shit? :( What if everything I posted was a lie? What if you post fake pics? What if you sandbag and post nothing? Nobody posts lies on the internet? People actually believe everything that's been posted? That could prove to be more dangerous to those that would use web info for personal gain than it would be for the posters. Really, the news is also legit non-biased propaganda free source of information? Anyone who assumes anything about others is a victim waiting to happen. What statistic will you become? Happy guessing, good luck.

I feel the exact same way.....

Every once in a while I'm mention something about shooting or the guns I own, but very rarely. The more you mention about the stuff you have...in your home... the more susceptible it is to being a target.

Remember, this forum is PUBLIC. People can see posts without having to register. If you search hard enough, I'm sure any tom, joe, or sally can get their hands on your address.
