Did most of it myself. Outsourced a couple things. I chose a complicated path which was probably not ideal. Otherwise, about 90%+ is bolt on. You’re mostly just swapping parts. The hardest part is gathering all the information so you know what needs to be done.

Sorry for the late response but do you by chance have a parts list you could post ? I’ve been searching everywhere and can’t get a straight answer

keep finding 4x4 swaps for access cab 4 cyl, and for the v6 double cabs just don’t wanna get thrown off mixing things up I figured better to ask someone who’s done it with the exact same set up

The general parts list is the same. The access cab 4 cyl swap thread will exactly apply to your truck. You can follow that list exactly.

And also if I got an fj cruiser transfer case would that eliminate most of the electrical process and it should just bolt on to the 4x4 trans from the 4x4 2tr

I think so. But I’m not sure. It was cheaper and easier for me to have my driveshaft cut down. I think it needs to be 13” shorter. Cost me $125 to have that done.

Yup. You’ll still need to wire a switch to engage the front differential. But that really no harder than wiring up any other accessory like a light bar.

i can’t find a post that fits my need now I’m only running into v6 4x4 swaps. Do you know of any swaps for the I4? would have to get parts from the same year? Sorry for all these questions but I really wanna finally get the wheels rolling on this swap!

The only difference in the swap between the 4-cylinder and the v6 is which transmission model you are getting, the driveshaft lengths, and the gear ratio that’s in the front differential. All the other parts are exactly the same. You don’t need to get parts from the same year but I’d stick to 2012-2015. Though there might be parts from earlier and later years that are interchangeable.

@Brian422 Can you link your thread on the conversion?

I was interested in the title of this thread but with only 2 pages, 1 being about 4x4 conversion and the other not providing much supercharger info, it's just about useless. I'd be interested in pricing though as a competition to the URD kit, which isn't exactly cheap.

Priced at $4500 right now on their website, with a 2.7l Tacoma specific kit now I think. I know this is old thread but I came across that s/c recently and it's intriguing
