The wire management is pretty, but I question how professional it is to place up to 125 amps on an exposed open air 8 connector terminal block.

Was this part of your thinking for removing the terminal block in the upcoming vertical SwitchPro tray?

Well the terminal block is rated by circuit, not as a whole like a busbar. Honestly the terminal block is great, it allows the user to not have to mess with fancy connectors and specialty crimpers. The decision to exclude it from the new design just comes down to trying to reduce the footprint.

I like it! Does the hole that all of the Switch-Pro wiring goes through have to be that big or can it be a bit more narrow like some of your other trays?

Yep and actually the 4runners have more room to play with so it should look very similar to the one pictured above.

I would also prefer it if you reduce the width of the cut out while keeping the knotch for the main power cord. The cut out width about the size of your horizontal mounts seems like it would be OK. That leaves the front part of the mount (where your decal is located in the picture) open to user customization.

I'm not sure whether those Anderson connectors were designed for an engine bay environment.

Otherwise, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

I know I went back-and-forth on connectors but since switch pros uses two wires to achieve their 35 A per circuit rating you you can’t crimp two wires into one connection on most connectors for two reasons, one is that most connectors are not rated for 35 Amps and secondly any weatherproof boot would be compromised because it would have two wires going into it instead of one, causing a gap.

The next option would be to use 4 prong connectors. However, this means that you would have to split your positive and negative wire from your accessory prior to the connector. That would just be a huge hassle in my opinion, plus 4 prong connectors are bulky and expensive.

So I opted for the Anderson power pole connectors because they can handle up to 45 Amps per connection. They’re relatively inexpensive and since they’re not “sealed” it kinda works out because water can’t get trapped in there which would accelerate the corrosion process.

At the end of the day, taking into account all those factors, I feel that these connectors were the best option. To allow most home gamers the ability to get a clean installation. Plus I think the fact that they come in the same colors is pretty nice since you don’t have to go back to the legends to figure out which switch you wanted to use.

Seems like the power/ground wiring to the Blue Sea Fuse box would be easier if it were rotated 180 degrees, in combination with thin north/south slots for the (6) Blue Sea circuits.

The clearance for the Redline hood struts looks suspect.

After a full install of the Redline struts, happy to note no apparent clearance issues with the upcoming vertical SwitchPro PowerTray.
