I'm gonna be brave and say it... I like the truck being auto :anonymous:

Granted the 1st gen 4 speed is a shitty auto... but like a 1/2uz with the 5 speed auto would be nice... or an LS with a nice auto mmm

I really need to get on TW more often! So a broken leg and a blown tire OTW home killed me 6 weeks ago.

    Happy Friggin Day Before Thanksgiving!

I hit the ortho surgeon again on Monday for another CT scan so keeping my fingers crossed that my tibia is healing properly....I have to get off of the friggin' crutches ASAP!

The truck 4x4 saga continues. Total $950 so far. 3rd trip to the dealership. Found that I had pushed a ground pin out in the 4x4 ECU connector when I was testing things, ok I own that. But then the dash switch they said was bad didn't fix the problem. Bought one $100, and put it in, that didn't fix it so I get a refund, nice. This is all over 3 weeks though which is super frustrating, picking the truck up taking it back in, etc. Now they say it's the transfer case 4x4 actuator motor is bad, but it works fine when I tested it. The shift shaft into the transfer case works smoothly and the actuator motor when powered manually with a battery shifts into 4Hi and 4Lo and back no problem. They also say the transfer case needs to be split to install a new actuator which comes with the shift rod but I know for a fact that's not true as I've had the actuator motor assembly off and on multiple times and if the shift rod moves freely and works when moved manually why does that need to be replaced?

It feels like they're guessing. They also want $1500 for the actuator assembly and $800 labor to split the transfer case. I can buy a ASIN (oem for toyota parts) actuator for $700 and install it myself but will that fix the problem? Or should I let them at it for $2300 in hopes they know what they're doing? Sigh, I just want this to work and I'm feeling pretty let down by the brand with this experience.

Fj case. Eliminate all the electric crap and call it a day. Get case and seat input shafts with current input shaft and bend up a shifter and enjoy no more electrical crap being a problem

Yeah I emailed rock solid toys to get information about their swap. Only question is since I have a 6 speed if it'll fit the same as everyone with automatics in the cab which it looks like I loose my cup holders which is mildly annoying but might be worth it.
