My old 2 gal Craftsman shop vac is stronger but I never use the thing cause I hate fumbling with the cord. Love the M18 vac for this reason alone.

That's how I got the vacuum. Bought the 4.0 battery starter kit & got the vacuum free, returned the starter kit for $137.50 so the vacuum was $61.50.

On another note. The Ridgid 3pc tool box set I got was $98 like every year. But last night I found a glitch, if you add them to cart online to get the discount, prices in cart shows total of $98 but the discount applies twice. So the price ends up being $71. So I bought it again online & I'm honna return it with my old receipt.

Right, but do any of the tools run with more power? If you slap that 15.0 amp hour one on the big impact wrench, does it turn with more power? I can't see how it could, but I don't know enough about that stuff to give an accurate assessment

If run a HD on a impact it allows the tool to pull max amperage faster and longer. Then a XC at the same mah. It al depends how the cells inside are wired

Okay, so there isn't a peak power improvement to the power of the motor from the battery then?
Ooooohhhhhhhh I bet the big ass new tools, like that compound miter table saw requires those big amp batteries to operate. I'll bet any of the older stuff doesn't necessarily see a noticeable improvement with the newer battery, maybe battery life I guess

Only stuff that pulls high amps needs it. So impacts, table saw, chain saw.

Yes it can but it depends on the tool. Power hungry tools will run stronger with the HO batteries, can even hear the difference. Not many of the hand held tools will benefit from the HO batteries like it does for the big tool, just get longer runtime.

Knowing what I know about batteries I never believed this. But I can tell the difference using a CP3.0HO battery on my drill compared to a 5.0XC battery. Not that big of a difference on my drill but there is. There's something else going on with the circuitry they use. CP3.0HO battery provides the same oomph as the bigger HO batteries cause it uses the 21700 cells, just doesn't have the runtime as the bigger packs.

So my CP3.0HO battery can provide more oomph than my 9.0HD battery on certain tools but obviously won't have the runtime of the 9.0HD batteries.

For the tools I have the 5.0XC batteries are my favorite & is what I use the most. I use a 9.0HD on my M18 angle grinder & a 12.0HD/HO on my blower. I use a CP3.0HO on my hammer drill but not for any reason except tbat it's compact & I don't us3 the drill that often. I got the 3.0 free with another tool.

Yup I'm happy with them for the price. Milwaukee Packout is the best IMO but way to expensive for my needs.

Was gonna get the Dewalt Toughsystem but I'm not a Dewalt fan, was gonna peel the stickers off. Lol. Toughsystem 2.0 is coming out next yr so I didn't want to buy something that was gonna be replaced l. Plus I read a bunch of reviews where the side handles broke off when fully loaded with weight. But I talked to other guys that said they never had a problem.

I'm not using them for tool storage to haul around though. They will stay in my garage. I needed the full length tray tote & is why I wanted the Dewalt. If the Milwaukee had full length trays I might have bought them with the BF sale. Ridgid doesn't even have a tray for the bottom box but I added my own for now until I come up with a better solution.

I've already overloaded the Ridgids with weight & they are still holding up fine. I've got like 80 lbs in the bottom box & 70 lbs in the middle box right now. Didn't need the small top box but it was free.

Haha, np. Milwaukee claims that their batteries communicate with the tools & the tools that need the power will know when they battery type can provide it. I simply thought is was just the case of less voltage drop & current capabilities as well as thermal feedback. But it really does seem like there's more to it. So I guess there is some truth to their redlink technology. But I don't know, I'm no expert or an engineer. I saw video by a Milwaukee battery engineer or something tbat was explaining some of it & is when I had to go try for myself.
