    My dad got this Toledo Steel cane sword from his next door neighbor, and gave it to me. His neighbors dad used it till he died in 1935. I think it was made in the 1920's.

    Needs a bit of cleaning up, but it's in great shape.

    Got the chef knife, it’s sharper than anything I’ve ever used! Now looking at an S1Pro and a zero tolerance.

    Care package arrived for me on the road. These are true work horses and I miss my originals that I passed on when I left home...nothing beats these two axes for hard lumber/wood work. Although I totally agree @cubie a good heavy chopper is hands down best in the wilderness!

    Needs a few weeks of Tung oil before use :D

    Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
    Any idea where a guy could get a Gransfors Bruks sharpened? I've had a hatchet for years that has had a lot of use and would like to get it back to a razor edge like it had the day I bought it. From what I can tell, I can't send it to the company. Is there a place in the US that can do it justice?

    Learn to sharpen yourself! A good axe edge needs to be kept up daily with use. I have a 250ish and 1200 grit diamond plates plus green compound on a leather strop, and keep mine shaving sharp.

    Lots of YouTube videos to take something from destroyed to shaving sharp, just takes a file, a few grades of stone, a strop and some practice!

    Same goes for any blade tool.

    I'm trying to avoid going down yet another rabbit hole of specialized tools. I've seen some videos. I may give it a try someday. I've just never gotten into knives like I did with guns. They just don't thrill me like they do some people I guess. Plus I always manage to cut myself when I play with them. I hate that part.

    Just not worth owning an axe if you don't keep it sharp. Just takes a few little plates, takes up no space at all practically :)
