The mount is super easy to install. I can't remember if it come with instructions or I found them online, but it's easy. I wasn't happy with the Perfect Squeeze phone mount, though. It rattled when I didn't have my phone in it, and I didn't like the way the phone went in and out. I bought a holder from Pro Clip and fit the ram ball to the back of it.

This is way cheaper and doesn't block your vent. One of the first things I installed.

My vents not blocked (passenger use) but I also didn’t do the whole bundle. This setup has no rattling for me

Personally don’t like anything above the dash so that mount was out for me. everyone has different preferences

    Can the vent still rotate?

No, you rotate it into position where you want it and then install it and it stays. I rotated it to direct to passenger and have no need to move it again (kind of like adjusting the seat position, I don’t move it once set)

That's what I thought. I have the original, and with the full ring, if doesn't rotate, and is only about 20% open max. I may move to the smaller unit to allow more opening.

The new vent attachment allows you to open and close the vent, but not rotate it. I really like mine.

V2 does open wider, not fully but I’d say 85-90% fully open

    Does it fully close?

I don’t think so, I’ll have to double check but I think 10-20%

I was mistaken, the vent will open all the way (there is the slightly of resistance but it will fully open). It doesn’t close all the way (I’d say 20-25%)

This is the one I went with. Super impressed with it. No blocking anything, no loss of functionality of anything, and very quick and simple install. Though, it does require you to drill your dash which was a little unnerving to do to my truck I had just brought home THAT day :D

Yeah... I've been looking at that. But it seems like overkill. Now if I had more then a phone to mount...

I went with the full one but only currently have my phone mounted on it. You can't even see the mounting system so it's not like you see the extra unused mounts but they're there for future use when I need them.
