They're a good team. If Spurrier hadn't pulled Garcia late in the 4th it might have gone to OT. I think y'all will beat em. But it's gonna be a close game.

And my friends girlfriend who went with us last night, went into the game a 'bammer, but we do believe we've begun to convert her. haha

 

I don't know about not bein all he's cracked up to be. Sounds a lot like Mcelroy to me. Was undefeated as a started - until yesterday -, and went 25 of 38 (66%) for 357 (however, only 44 in the 4th quarter), an average of 9.4 yards per, with 1 TD and 3 picks.

McElroy was 18 of 26 (69%) for 194 1TD and 2 picks. He made the same stupid mistakes Mallett did, but to his credit, he did it in the first half, not with the game on the line.

Do I think ya'll will win the title again this year? Yea. I've said that since last year. Will it be as easy as it was last year? No. You'll dominate whoever you play for the SECC cuz the east is WAY down this year. And you'll probably dominate the NC game (I hope). And I understand you're proud of your team and you're QB, but from 1 game, I wouldn't go as far as saying Mallet's not all he's cracked up to be.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an Arkansas fan, and I'm not a Mallett guy, but I gotta give em credit. Mallett as an individual, and his team, both look pretty legit.

I don't think UA will get back to the MNC game. You're underestimating the West this year.. yea LSU isn't great... but they still have a chance. Bama squeaked by Arky. I honestly think UF has a chance to beat em.

Plus Auburn is looking better every week. We'll definitely give em a run for their money, maybe even beat em.

 

Auburn is startin to look better. And that's a rivalry game, so it's always tight. I'm not underestimating the west, I know the west is a lot better than in the past few years. I think they'll win the west, and then I think they'll kill Florida, or it'll be a tight game (10 points) against SC to make it to the National title game.

 

We'll have to see how SC looks against 'Bama in 2 weeks. And I still don't think bama is gonna go undefeated again.

 

I think Spurrier is a little trigger happy when it comes to pullin Garcia. Gotta let em play through some adversity. I don't think SC is all that great, but I think they'll play Bama tough. I could be COMPLETELY wrong, but we'll see.

 

I'm not sure where you're getting that. Maybe he had't lost yet this year, but we won the game last year 35-7, and Mallet was the QB then. I know there are other losses, but I'm not going to take the time to find them. McElroy hasn't lost since pre-puberty.

EDIT: Thought I'd go and check... Mallett started 12 games in 2009. He lost 5 of them. Doesn't mean he's a bad quarterback, but I KNEW there were losses on his record other than the Alabama game last year.

Also, I'm not saying Mallett isn't good - he is very good - but did you see how he reacted when things started going poorly? He completely lost his composure. He started pissing and moaning to the ref after just about every play, acting like a 6th grader who would rather take his ball and go home than lose a game. Plus... Any decent quarterback should know to throw the ball into the first row of seats, not barely out of bounds. That was an epic screw-up.

I can't really argue w/ people who say we escaped with a win, or that we squeeked by... But we were down 20-7 late in the third quarter. We didn't lose our composure... just went to work. Pass defense is our weakness this year, and we got past the best passing game we'll see all season.

Going undefeated for a third straight regular season will be nearly impossible, especially with the difficultly of our schedule this year. I don't necessarily expect it, but I think we have a better chance than anybody in the conference at doing it. Of all the games on our schedule, I think @ Arkansas was the scariest. We still have to go to SC and to La. State, though.

I think Arkansas will be our friend in the West now... they are going to beat La. State and Auburn this year. They'll beat La. State b/c their quarterback sucks. They'll kill Auburn b/c they can't defend the pass.

The Iron Bowl is a rivalry game, but it's not always tight. We've taken a few beatings, and the last time we played in Bryant Denny we won 36-0. Not saying that means anything for this year, but the whole "throw out the recordbooks" stuff is usually crap. The team favored usually wins.

They play the games for a reason, though... so we'll see. I could be completely full of shit.

We might get a little SECC preview this weekend at Bryant Denny when the jorts come to town.

Ha. I'm now kinda shocked we beat ULL. I'll be happy if we go 6-6...and don't see us beatin Auburn. They'll give it a shot though.

 

Well two things happened on Saturday.

1. My beloved Longhorns lost to a mediocre UCLA team but most UCLA fans won't acknowledge that (heck I know I wouldn't) anyways I knew the Horns were "overrated" maybe top 25 (and that's a stretch) but not in the top 10 (not even close) and I was proved correct on Saturday. Anyways, I can already hear the excusses "they were looking past this game to OU".......the sign of a great team is that they take every game serious. I hope the Horns can recover from this very "bad loss", oh well National Championship hopes are done for this year. Maye the Holiday Bowl!

2. My son, Baby Rico was born! I was watching the Horns on the screen in disgust while my son was born. So it was a bundle of emotions to say the least! I'm just glad my son didn't open his eyes to the one of the worst beatings on UT's turf that I can remember!

Congrats! I bet when you look back, you'll only remember that your team was playing as your son was born. Not the negativity of the loss. Maybe he'll be a good luck charm for the rest of the season.
