I recently talked to local crash repair shop about buffing out pinstripes and a tree scrap. The painter told me to get Taco coated and he had a friend that does it. Contacted Jay and this weekend he got every pinstripe and the tree scrape removed. And Taco coated. Now the Goat magnetic panels should keep Taco free of pinstripes.

I am also finding the history of the old places I explore a lot harder than I thought it would be. There is much on the rich but not much on the individual humble family types that just got by. The Quakers did leave a rich history of everyday life.

@Darkgoatracer, are you planning on going rock crawling at a place not intended to destroy a vehicle sometime in the near future. I have not found a place around Aldie to practice technique. My goal is to safely navigate thru most types of terrain

I'm assuming you got a ceramic coating. They're great for long term paint care.

it is my belief that a Taco is a very capable vehicle and with several improvements is capable of going thru some fairly tough terrain. The secret is knowing what you are doing and that comes with experience which is hard to come by. Slow and thoughtful is what I was taught. I need the experience and the knowledge. You can only go so far reading.

what was the cost on the coating if you don’t mind my asking I’ve seen so many variations of cost for the same service/product. Area seems to be what impacts the cost.

Jay came here, took 7 hours, cost $1000.00. There were many pinstripes and one tree scrap that painter said was too deep to remove without repainting; all removed. Jay said Toyota has been reducing the thickness of clear coat but it is still good.

Off topic...Solar power. I spent TG dinner with a friend who works for Dominion VA Pwr. They are actively supporting solar power to even out their generation by using net metering. Think of the grid as the cloud. Any excess power from your panels during the day helps their generators so during off peak they can run their generators efficiently and give you back your excess supplied power. No need for storage batteries. Other utilities on VA cooperate with Dominion so if interested check yours.

    A thing or two...
My parents had solar on their house in TX. I'm not sure how much of a difference it made, but they did say that it lowered their electric bill.
