Yeah! I bought it minty with 81,777 miles in 2012. Been babying it’s ever since. Unfortunately my cousin borrowed it for two years and it came back not babied at all ha.

Good luck with your decision but definitely keep your truck forever haha :D

    Hi Eddie,
I'd keep that good looking truck. You own it, save that money. :) Especially if you love it. I'm your age and bought my 2015 right before the new gen 3's came out because I know that 4 liter was tried and true.
I plan on keeping it till one of us dies first. I love my Taco!

I hear ya on keeping it till the 1st one dies. That's probably what I'll do. 8 years and she's only cost me a battery other than routine maintenance. Hard to beat that.....

Gen 2 ran from 05 to 15, I would suspect the gen 3 will run that long as well. So I wouldn’t expect gen 4 until 2025 or 2026. It may run linger after all the Tundra was introduced in 07 and rumors it will be 21 before redesign.

I'm 53 right now. Bought my 2012 Tacoma DCSB 4.0 two years ago with 129,000Kms (80,000 miles) on it. In the past 2 years I've only added another 17,000 miles! l plan on keeping it as long as l can keep it running. It's paid for and since I'm retired, its great not having any kind of vehicle payment.
But even if l was still working, I'd still keep it rather than trade it it, because l like it that much!!
It's a solid truck. Does whatever l ask of it. Plus, if I'm still driving it when I'm 80, that would be absolutely fine with me!!

keep it. I miss my 1st Toyota Truck.
    my 1989.

    A 4 speed manual

Yes it was 2wd but I drove it anywhere. Only got dragged out once.

Even my friend with the tall socks liked my Truck!
    6EE4D8BE-E57C-45F1-848B-158AE4ED6127.jpgMiss the truck! Bulletproof!
    It was made in Japan!
    The items that came standard?
Trim rings for the stock steel wheels, vinyl bench seat, Vinyl floor, 1 drivers side mirror (no pass mirror) hand crank windows, heater, and a 6’ bed!

Did I mention MADE IN JAPAN?
no fogs, no A/c, no radio, no power sliding rear window, no lumbar, no adj power seat, no compass, no time clock,
667FFEBD-292C-48B1-9617-E1FDA54F5355.jpg Keep that thing till you die. Every time you see that same truck roll past you get chest pains!

Not much you can do if a 30ft box/rental truck tries to cross a 4 lane highway and only made it 3 lanes. I was in the 4th lane doing 70mph when he drove into the side of me.

    No passenger side mirror!

I’d hold onto your truck! I was in an accident last year in my 07’ 2nd Gen and decided to get a new 18’. I love the 18’ but I always find myself wishing I found a good 14’ or 15’ instead. If you do decide to upgrade it would be worth your while to rent one for a week or borrow one just to get the feel of the 3rd Gen.
