You’ll use/notice the difference of the Archive hangers more than a winch and you have to have the bumper brackets to utilize the winch.

So brackets, hangers, and maintenance items are my vote. Not that you asked. ;)

Real question is the BAMF hangers w/ regreaseable shackles, or Archive?

Can’t go wrong either way. I’ve only had the opportunity to mess with the Archive and everyone who gets them really likes them.

I really like Jerry’s products though so I have no doubt his are great. Plus you could ship the brackets and hangers + shackles from BAMF to save shipping costs and utilize that phat discount he’s got going right now. :spending:

True that. Will choose a few items later today. Also need new leaf springs but no sale from Deaver...and the box kit from DMZ but no BF sale from them

Lots of the smaller companies like that won’t give a discount. DMZ is a small fab shop and he has no problem moving those frame plates.

The big difference, from my understanding, between the Archive and the BAMF hangers is the Archive change the shackle location and geometry while the BAMF retains factory geometry. Maybe someone can confirm. @JLee

No personal experience, but unless Archive has changed their design the change in geometry isn’t what replacement leaf springs are designed around so it can do some funky stuff including locking out the shackles. @jberry813 helped me decide on BAMF when the time comes.

@jberry813 Forgot to ask earlier on, but with the Vagabond on, what is your suspension setup for the rear? & have you boxed the frame? Thanks!

Not that I'm Jason, but he's got a build thread that is quite descriptive and entertaining to read through with all that info.

He's got custom Deavers for his weight with 2.5x12" Kings on a custom relocation. Not sure if he's boxed the rear.

    ...too much shit to list.

Custom deavers built to my spec. 12” stroke King triple bypasses with tubes clocked to my spec. @JLee BAMF hangers and shackles. jberry garage fab shock hoops and shock relocation. I plated the outside of the frame when I did the shock relocate. I have the plates to box the inside of the c-channel frame but ran out of motivation when I broke my back. So those are still on the garage floor.

Black Friday Happened! On order I have...

-Front and Rear Third Members. 4.88 gears. Sadly, no locker (but why?!) - I have been able to get to every spot I've wanted without a locker. I couldn't get myself to spend $900 on the ARB + $250 for the compressor. Just not in the price budget, and the winch will cover me as long as there's something to winch off of. Plus, the lockers are being saved for a 83-85' Yota, once I find the right one.

-New idler pulleys: I toasted my bearings in the Mojave a year ago and my truck sounds like it's dying. If you've heard it in person, you know how loud the engine wine is.

-Smittybilt X20 10k Winch w/ Synthetic: Honestly, I'll probably use this in the snow season (right now) a good amount. I got stuck last year in Big Bear, Mammoth, and Yosemite in the snow and it was annoying to see 100 trees I can winch off but no winch. I also will order a new fairlead and the ARB recovery kit later.

-Cabin Air Filter: IDK if mine has ever been changed

-Spark Plugs: 30,000 miles on mine now, might as well change them.

-BAMF Bumper Brackets: Originally, I was going to order the BAMF Hangers w/ regreaseable shackles and the bumper brackets, but the ECGS order led in me cancelling them. I will get the Hangers one day, but I don't find them a need at the moment. I need new leaf springs before Hangers.

Good day of money spending! Still need the frame boxing kit but I'll do that + the hangers all before the Vagabond. Now to go back to working to recoup.

seen a few decent deals on gears but didn’t jump on it. Who did you end up going through for gears?
