Its ip68 rated, so it's the same shallow immersion test they do for cell phones, pod lights, and etc.

How does that correlate to 85 mph salt soaked roads? This is the test i want to see passed.

    little OCD ;) looks great!
So do you guys use a cable grease on the winch cable? Been wondering this for the atv, it doesnt see salt roads but sees a lot of snow in winter, Just wondered if it would help with the cable life on it. its not too expensive for a cable but rather not drag out 50' if I dont have to.

The winch I bought has synthetic line, so I'd imagine that wouldn't be needed on mine. I'm still a newb when it comes to recovery so I don't have all the answers, but I would think a little grease may be beneficial :notsure:

The cable is never gonna wear out. It's going to be the gear assembly. Cable grease isn't going to gain you much except make a mess.

    Thanks...

but if I was OCD I would be thinking about redoing the ground connections and redoing the terminations since there is a bit more copper exposed on some.
