It's pretty amazing you're (81trekker) such a great fabricator and welder, can design and build a killer front suspension, can build your 81, but don't have a clue about center of gravity. THAT makes no sense.

It's also amazing how many people can look at a build at its beginning and discredit whatever is being done when they don't have a clue wtf is in the future of the build. The guy that wrote my lift doesn't make sense with the stock tires and wheels... lmao! How in the f___ can the big tires and wheels be put on BEFORE the end lift is installed? Lmao! I honestly don't know how you put up with the nonsense. Maybe I was supposed to post up a previous build in the beginning of the post like you did so strangers would know I'm capable, but wtf does it matter if I'm capable to a reader before the project is finished? Rhetorical.

 

I see what your saying, but I feel like body roll will feel worse in a truck with a body lift vs. a suspension lift truck. Its just more leverage against the frame on a turn, making your butt dyno/ (G force feeler?) read a higher body roll. Things that don't get incorporated into this apples to apples comparison is the stiffer valving and spring rate that user get with aftermarket shocks, reducing body roll even after the center of gravity is raised.

I agree on your argument on paper, but it does not translate to actual driving scenarios.

Logged 75 off-road miles today- some snow, lots of mud, hard pack and some big dunes. I’m really happy with the front end right now but do want to pull the shocks apart to add more rebound. Also need to do a re-gear for the deep sand

Took the Offroad trail out through Julian, down the back side into anza, over to ocotillo then down to superstition and back through plaster city

Another 50 off road miles and everything is working great... glad I added the hydro bumps in the front, really makes it much more forgiving

Your dunes sure have a lot of rocks. I like it but seems dangerous

 

The dunes at superstition have a few rocks here and there... keeps it interesting

I’m looking forward to getting out to Glamis for some big dunes in the next few weeks
