Back seat of a Tacoma is so much smaller. Couldn’t fit a infant car seat behind the drivers seat much less a toddler car seat. Really sucks sometimes being 6’3”, infant seat barely fits behind the driver in the GX.

You had an AC though, is a DC not similar in backseat size? We rocked the middle for the car seat this summer and it worked great with the him and the dog, but two and a dog is going to be problematic with my tall ass as well.

Had a double cab. I could barely fit in the passenger seat with the infant car seat behind it.

My bad, thought you had an AC. I don't know that that is much different than the 4R, I felt the same way. We need some measurement data!

Anyone with a DC want to take some measurements? Seat with "normal recline", measure rear seat to back of front seat at rear seat height, seat slid all the way up and then all the way back. Ill measure the 4R tonight.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Sold taco so can't measure but I remembed rear facing seat couldn't go behind me. Was ok in middle or behind wife in passenger seat since she could slide forward more than I could. We rode with kids all in carseats 3 across in the doublecab. Gotta have the right carseat shape/size combo to make it work.

Got em 3 across in middle of 4R now with 2 in booster seats in 3rd row.

On the note of space, any of you have some form of seatback organizer? I ordered one from LLBean thinking it would hang behind 3rd row but it was too long to fit there.

Interesting, that would make them pretty close to the same then. I had a few more inches forward but my radio is in the way of the seat slammed forward.

Looks like the specs are pretty close with 2” of more rear leg room for the 4Runner.

What size roam box did you go with? Would you go bigger or smaller if you bought again.

Its the 95 liter, and I do wish it was bigger, but I can’t fit anything bigger with tent up there.

I do like how the 95L fits perfectly width wise on the roof rack and it has a lower profile. Looks like the 105L isn’t as long but it’s taller. Hmm they are 20% off right now.
