Cool, that definitely seems like the best route. Then just unplug/toss the cpu like Ryan said?

Word, I’ll still have to do something to get the lights off the dash though?

With this sale, it’s just as much as a crawl box and twin stick setup.

yeah, not sure if the atlas has any kind of switches for lights like the stock tcase. if so, then just wiring them to the actual lights on the dash is all thats needed.

yeah i looked at the atlas4 a while ago and seems the price is like ~$800 cheaper with the sale? would be nice to have it

Nope. Mines been completely disconnected since I installed the crawl box/fjcase, switch for add, and anytime rear locker.

no lights will come on but if you don’t reconnect the 4wd and 4lo the indicators on the dash won’t ever work. Plus the ADD switch drives a contact input that’s used by the skid control ECU for the traction control so whatever mode of traction control is used in 4wd such as trac or Atrac may not work. But let’s be honest here, most anyone who is putting in an aftermarket transfer case isn’t giving a hoot about atrac

Yep but I never even unplugged mine just left it up there. It’s all the way at the top of the dash so a pain to get to, and I used the fused tap to tap into the power wire for the 4wd ecu for my “locker anytime” mod. So I opted to leave mine in, but it’s not really doing any control functions at this point, more like abandoned in place.

What would I reconnect the 4wd and 4lo to? I don’t care about being able to see 2/4/4lo lights on the dash, or atrac etc. (have an abs off) just don’t want the truck be confused if that is a symptom. If the lights aren’t on, great, but would put the above as higher priority.

Not having the 4wd computer isn’t an issue. I mean go disconnect it now and see what happens. Shouldn’t have any ill driving effects other than no 4wd for the moment.

truck would not care. Just leave them disconnected. The indicators are a normally open switch and close when the truck is in 4wd/4lo/ADD engaged. I’m not 100% certain about the traction control ECU but I know there are different modes of traction control whether you are in 2wd or 4wd; so essentially you’d be stuck in whatever traction control mode the truck does in 2wd. If the ABS light is on the traction control is probably non functional anyhow. I haven’t reconnected anything except for the hi and low lights to the dash and that is for indication only they provide no control functions. I also pulled one of my speed sensor wires to disable the ABS, it’s been like that for years and everything is been working fine. I have a TRD off-road with the hydraulic brake booster assembly. Below is the ADD switch i am talking about.

Ok, gotcha. Yeah, I have a switch to turn abs off and that disables errthing. One of my favorite things I’ve done on the truck really.

Any ideas on if an Atlas has indicator capabilities?

most of them do. If for some reason they don’t you can always wire up a limit switch on the shifter itself. Bolt to the trans tunnel and as the shifter is moved to the hi/lo or 2wd/4wd positions it hits a paddle switch. When there’s a will there’s a way. Obviously the low gear is easy enough to tell if you are engaged but it would be nice knowing the 4wd position IMO
