BUYER BEWARE: 3rd Gen Plug-N-Play Tailgate Bolt-N-Lock & Tailgate Bolt-N-Open

In the first picture, the small, flat metal rod connects to the actuator and the tailgate locking mechanism. It's cut to a precise length suitable for the position of the actuator, which is accomplished via the other, larger bracket in the picture. For that one, all you have to do is remove the two bolts that secure the rear camera, plop the bracket on, and replace the bolts (mount the actuator to the bracket first). Profit!

I think the second picture shows the bracket used for the actuator that opens the tailgate.

 

The top one is the BNL for the Lock side and the other one is the BNO for the Opener side. If you have the Tailgate Lock already, then you just need to purchase the Add-On Package. If you don’t have any of the Kits, then you need to purchase the Tailgate Opener Complete Package. Check out the Black Friday Sale on my website. Currently running a discount on both those packages. Rest assured that in this there is no cut and splicing going on. It's all PLUG and PLAY hi quality harnesses. The only splicing is if you hook a switch up to the DSIM B harness and that is all in line splices that are provided.

Do you have anymore info on the HUD and Folding Mirror Harnesses? I am worried about the folding mirror harness, will it interfere with puddle lights or switch back turn signals?

love the heads up display also, are there projected release dates for both of those?

I ordered the full package powered tailgate last night might pick up more deals today.

 

The folding mirror harness will not interfere as I have both on my truck and many others do as well. You can look through the forum quickly if you’d like to see which ones have the meso puddles but I do know that I made some mirrors with meso puddles on them and they worked just fine. I’m not really sure which part you would be afraid of interfering but let me know and I can help ease your mind a little more maybe.

The heads up display is being sent to me any day. The print has been completed. I am going to test fit it in the truck and make sure everything fits perfectly. That should be going out this week, along with the Grab Handle. Once I test fit both of them, then it is just about getting the final molds made. At that point, I will be given more of a estimated time frame. I will be able to announce it then for everyone.

I have the KTJO4X4 power folding mirrors, Meso Puddles and I added side mirror cameras to my mirrors and all the wire harnesses fit in the mirror no problem.

Sorry again for the many questions. When you quote "if you have the tail lock already" are you referring to the truck oem key lock? picture below. The kit that I would like to purchase, is the one that I can utilize my door controls to open and close the tailgate and allows me to do the same with my remote control. What kit would that be? $150 kit or $85.50 kit? I don't need the DSIM Kit to automatically open the tailgate with my remote.

 

Hi I have a 3rd gen, just to be sure on the lock and unlock tailgate only package . You can only lock/unlock the tailgate with the key fob/ remote only and not from the door handle correct.

You can lock and unlock the truck with any part of the locking system of the truck. If that makes sense. So the key fob, the smart handle, the door switches inside the cab, etc. which means the tailgate will lock and unlock as well

 

Can we have some pics of those side mirror cameras.

I was looking at the "3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma Tailgate Lock Complete Full Package" I probably missed my time due to waiting for my questions to be answered before committing to buy the right kit.

I received my kit today. Real easy question... Should we be running this wire inside of a split wire loom? Or will the wiring you provided, with the protective loom be okay when exposed to the elements under the truck?

Also, I'd recommend adding a connector between the tailgate and the truck, so the tailgate can be removed. Much like the backup camera wiring.
