Actually a little more than that. Opened, modded and more light output. Already on his Sema truck.:hattip:

I thought those were the morimotos! I can't keep track of all the headlight mods anymore

He did those too with the 3 projectors but went with the new 2020's LEDs.

well it only took a few hours to read this start to finish and look at all the parts listed. I don't know if im better off than when I started. I definitely like the BHLM to the headlights, I also like the larger LED DRLs like on the Morimoto, tacomabeast, and other headlights. I found this set a while back that I like but I would still be interested in modding the projector to something better. Just need to email them to see if they have any specs on the projector. I do have to say though. There is a long list of things I want to do before I spend $1000 on headlights between the headlight and the mods.

Those are the same quality as ebay lights but more expensive, I would just take a look at ones on there if you're set on getting some aftermarket like these. Quality control is pretty sub-par regardless of the make so might as well pay less.

yeah they looked like the quality was not of the highest standard. I’m definitely on board with getting some for cheaper if I plan on modding them anyways. Upgrading the projectors is definitely on my list.

Sounds like a fun project! Make sure to check out the Meso thread where he modded them out if you haven't already. Has some good info on the hardware you'll need.

For sure! I read that one too. Im gonna go through it again though to see if I missed anything. I have a few other projects around the shop I've been wanting to do for a while finish up first. Then back to modding the Tacoma.

well I'm ordering some of the Morimoto Butyl Seal and some stickers from TRS. I have moisture in both headlights. im betting it was from my sweet splash adventure when I was off roading and i'm in the PNW. this way I can black out the interior and maybe find a set of decent stock headlights or aftermarket ones to retrofit in the meantime.

just bought an extra pair of headlights and going to try BLHM on those... so worst case they go wrong and still have stock, best case is they work and i then have an extra set of headlights

Was it a one day project? I have everything I need to do it but haven't because I thought it would take a solid 2 days...

Yeah it was just the one day. Started late at like 1 or 2 pm and had the headlights back in at 845 the same night. Let them sit for the full 8 or so min at 300F to break the seal. I wrapped the tabs I was worried about in foil to protect them from some of the heat. I had some moving rubber bands for furniture left over from my last move and used those wrapped around a few times to set the seal when I was finished.

the First one was super tricky for me too. I used a screw driver to get it pulled apart initially. And the wife said to let it bake longer bc i pulled out early. (That’s what she said) Don’t forget to bend back all the tabs that keep it held together and make sure all the screws are out too. At least you have an extra set. Means you can take longer to refine it to how you want it. I might order a set of some aftermarket ones I like and do the full projector mod on them.

Either sell them to someone here on the forum or send them in to vtech and he'll do it for you...assuming you're willing to pay for it. He did mines with full retrofit, halos, and meso side markers. I honestly couldn't be happier with his craftmanship. I get so many compliments everywhere I go because many people don't see tacomas with my setup.

Yeah... I'm at that point... hey, has anyone ever noticed how much this forum has cost them? lol... just a hub of bad influences.
