Funny story. I was working from home two weeks ago. My neighbor across the street has a very steep driveway, and a fedex truck thought he could make it. As soon as the front of the truck started going up his driveway, the back end of the delivery truck dipped down and came to rest on the low step bumper they have on those trucks; all the weight was off his tires and on that bumper.

Hooked a strap up to him and big red pulled him right out. Dude was so thankful he didn’t have to call dispatch for a tow truck.

 

The UPS truck would have backed up. ...well actually he'd have parked across the driveway blocking the road & told the helper to run the package up.

The local Firestone that I got to has the machine to do it. Problem is, I can't do it this weekend... They are super busy because of the storm, so I can't get my snow tires road force balanced and out on. FAK!

Anyone know of someone that can use a free Christmas tree this year? I work at Jones’s tree farm in Shelton every season for shits and get a coupon for a “cut your own tree”. I don’t need it and I was hoping someone on here could that was down on their luck this year or something but still wants to get a nice tree of their choosing. Completely free, no strings attached. If you or anyone you know could really use it just shoot me a PM. I only get one coupon!

Disclaimer: This is a cut your own. So you’ll have to go to Jones’s tree farm in Shelton, park on Candy Cane Hill, go into the woods, cut your tree and drag it to a bailing station. That’s about it as far as manual labor goes. At the farm we don’t help you cut your tree. Either next weekend or the weekend after. 7th, 8th, 14th or 15th. Hope to help make someone’s holiday a little brighter.

I was lucky to get in before Thanksgiving. It sucks that they can't get you in before the snow. But If we get enough snow then you really won't feel if your tires are out of balance anyways. Haha.

I hope that the road force balance does what you want it to do.

 

Hopefully I can get in some day next week. Still have some vacation days to burn before the end of the year, so I'll try to get in next week to get it all done.

… or not. Cold out there. No one would do the swap before 3pm (no surprise). Tried BJ's first - 3 guys in the shop, all bays empty, no one getting propane, no customers in the waiting area, and they wouldn't do it w/o an appt & because I hadn't bought the tires there.
Way to keep a customer! Left the 3 of them idle & chatting.

Truth be told, my best snow vehicle is the hybrid. The tires are good, skinny, the battery pack sits across the rear axle, & it's got two motors sitting above the front axle. Going to be easy to clean off the roof Monday after work too. Sigh.
I need a garage with a lift & heat & air tools.

It's already icy out there - careful everyone.
