We always keep the windows and top vent open when in our teardrop. The idea is to not suffocate while sleeping - as a byproduct, we get very little (not none) condensation.

That's my plan too. Figured it'd work even if it got pretty chilly. That's what more covers are for! Im sure more camper projects will be necessary after this trip...like a heater of some sort! My wife likes to be warm, wake up warm and stay that way. :D

Wired the winch to the aux battery and put up some temporary adhesive wire anchors to secure the fan wiring. Still need a quick window cover solution...

Trip to a fabric store, a 'twist tight bar' and a sewing machine will get you what you need.

I like items that can be multi-purposed. Window covering one minute, body disposal the next.......win, win.

First night camping in the box!

    IMG_20191128_075133.jpg
    IMG_20191128_075443.jpg
It was chilly. 25 degrees at 8am. Nice sleeping the in the camper though. Don't care what the ground is like. Don't care what the weather is like. There was a TON of condensation inside but it wasn't drippy or anything. Wiped it all up with my REI camp towel (awesome towel!) And we carried on. We left a window cracked and the roof vent open a bit at night but I don't think there is anything we could do to keep the condensation down more.

    IMG_20191128_091637.jpg
That first night was right near Burney falls, CA. Pretty cool falls...the water pours out of the cliff through cracks or something. Didn't read the signs...they were covered in ice.

    IMG_20191129_095224.jpg
Then we drove down hwy 49 from Auburn to Mariposa...through gold country. That road is bonkers! Curvy and wonderful the entire way. Here we are taking a break. The wife getting her pose on.

    image000000_01.jpg
Rolling into Yosemite..like a boss! My lovely wife is such a good sport. It was her idea to get a shot going through the entrance. I looped around twice so she could get some shots she was happy with.

    IMG_20191129_133725.jpg
A fresh foot of snow and low clouds kept the valley obscured but it was a fantastic experience.

    IMG_20191129_165232.jpg
    IMG_20191129_165728.jpg
    IMG_20191129_170801.jpg
    IMG_20191129_171046.jpg
    IMG_20191129_170920.jpg
Then we got stupid lucky and the clouds broke just as we were rolling up on El Capitan. What a beautiful chunk of rock. It's unreal and needs to be seen in person. We did the short, snow covered hike up to the base of the nose. You can touch the bottom and see the top. Insane. Mind boggling to think Alex Honnald rolled up to this with nothing more than a pair of shoes, a pair of pants and a t shirt (probably a chalk bag) and scurried up 2900' in 3 hours 56 minutes.

    IMG_20191129_183750.jpg
This is what El Capitan looked like all day except for the half hour we were standing in front of it.

    IMG_20191129_175334.jpg
Parked for the short but icy walk up to bridalveil falls.

    IMG_20191129_154737.jpg
Hamming in front of barely enough water to even call it a falls. When a breeze came through the water didn't even make it to the ground. You get really close to it...it'd be awesome in the height of spring runoff!

    IMG_20191129_162554.jpg
On the way out I climbed into this person wide crack about half way before I freaked out and got out of there. I'm a little claustrophobic but I seem to enjoy testing that in different ways.

    IMG_20191129_095148.jpg
Back over 49 for a quick but nice visit with my aunt and uncle and cousins in Mountain Ranch, CA. Look close and you can see the road in the distance. It's just an insane ribbon of pavement. Would be EPIC on a motorcycle or in a sporty car. If you could get that time when the road is both dry, warm and free of traffic. No traffic at all this time but I can imagine this being clogged with RVs and whatnot in the summer.

    IMG_20191130_164944.jpg
Then we drove straight home. Got home last night at midnight. We usually do that. Take our time going and blaze home. Nice to have an extra day at home to clean up and relax before the work week.

Next post will be thoughts on the camper so far.

So jealous of your trip! Burney falls is fun but theres nothing like Yosemite covered in snow. Camper looks good!

I had been to Yosemite when I was little but I don't remember it. It was awesome in the snow! We want to go back in the summer and spend several days hiking halfdome and El Capitan and strolling around the valley.

Be sure to get permits beforehand if you wanna hike half dome, they only allow 300 a day up the cables during the summer

Love Yosemite. Would running the exhaust fan all night work? Heater?

Hmmm, I'll have to think on this problem. Hope to help.
