New tires for my TRDPro 6 speed manual stock

I did a thing. It drives surprisingly well with the new tires. A 33" tire paired with the 4.30 gearing is a nice match. Plus the screaming deal I got on the 285/75R16 BFG A/T KO2s was just too good to pass up.

 

Already get the CMC done? That’s a combo that’s guaranteed to rub. Looks good though!

 

No need. It doesn't rub at all.

 

Been proven time and time again 285/75/16s don’t rub on the pros.

 

I have solid clearance both front and rear at full lock. Based on the caster angle of the fronts, I don't see myself hitting the cab mount at all. Worst case, I'll make a caster plate and throw that on then massage the front of the fender liner.

 

I have seen them rub first hand when wheeling hard. Plenty of reports of rubbing on this forum as well. If you are comfortable with it then fine, but the only 33’s guaranteed to fit time and time again are 255/85/16 Cooper ST Max.

Even this thread’s OP said she required a CMC. I guess you could say 285’s MAY fit? Certainly not that they WILL fit.

 

285/75/16s on a pro with stock pro suspension, stock pro rims, and alignment fit without rubbing. Even when wheeling. They fit every, single, time.....

 

I mean, you can read through this form and find that they obviously don’t fit every time. That being said, to each their own. Enjoy the truck!

It also looks like earlier this month you were still running 265s and considering bumping up to 285s for your next set so I’m not sure how you can be so confident in your position.

 

In any case, they don't rub. Just went for a short jaunt in the Pine Barrens today with all the rain and had zero issues with rub.

 

If that is the case, and I truly hope it is, it is just additional evidence of the incredible variance these trucks have when leaving the factory. If you read through the OVtune thread it is almost shocking how differently stock trucks react to the same set of programming.

 

Because my neighbor also has a pro, twin to mine but in black and he’s been on 285s for 3 years. Wheels the piss outta his truck. No rubbing. Countless dudes on the South Carolina thread wheel all over and every single one on 285s with a pro doesn’t rub. It’s do to the pro rim off set. The hardest wheeling mine sees is the nation forest roads when I hunt, for sure going with 285s when this set wears out, prolly another 3 years with the amount I drive.

 

I'll let you know how these age in the next year or so if it helps your decision-making calculus at all.

285s look good from a width perspective as long as the sidewalls aren't outrageously small. My last car I had 23k on it in 4 years and I thought I was conservative with the driving... you certainly proved me wrong today!

 

My drive to work is less then 4 miles. I normally ride my bike or run. Helps to stay in shape for archery season and year round.

 

This is my third set of Goodyear Duratracs ive had on different trucks. All three sets ive had were different sizes but all have worn extremely well, perform great, and look awesome in my opinion. These are 265/70/17 on stock TRD sport suspension.

What was your Great Price? I have been looking for the same size tires, I have a 4' lift on my TRDORP. I am looking at Cooper. Anyone else looking and what price are you finding? I can get a zero interest at NTB but they said the sale ends today. Maybe Petboyz?
