Picked up my 2019 TRD DCSB OR on Thursday. We got some snow, freezing rain and ice pellets this morning so I went out to test the stock Goodyear Wranglers with some fun high school parking lot driving in the conditions. Gotta say, I had no issues with the traction they had in 2wd and 4wd...but under braking they were garbage. So this week I'll be swapping this out for some dedicated winters.

Gonna have to do some sound deadening myself to quite down the sounds of the tires and exhaust. Do you recommend the type you used?

I have a question that I need help with. If the doors are made to weep or drain water that gets beyond the window gaskets does the sound deadening material
1.) allow water to get trapped between the door skin and the deadening material?
2.)is the deadening material capable of absorbing water?

Absolutely no experience applying deadening material hence my ignorance. o_O

The sound deadening material is very similar to black tar and covered with an very thin sheet of aluminum foil. If its rolled on correctly water cant get between it and the door. Its basically water proof.

Got my Bakflip MX-4 on this morning and then installed the OEM power tailgate lock. Both went smoothly. A good way to spend a rainy Sunday.

Pretty much what I assumed but not ever having any in hand had to ask. I'm guessing that you would also apply it as closely as you could below the window gaskets. Thanks Bud for the quick response, appreciate it. Hate being ignorant about some of the mods being done here.

We all learn new things everyday and easiest way is to just ask. The recommended application is 40-50% coverage with this. I did about 90-95% of the entire interior and both inner and outer metal door panels then covered by dynaliner for heat/cold and a little more sound. Overkill but I had it on hand and why not. Lol

Always been bothered by the amount of road noise in this Tacoma as compared to my 2nd gen.
This is a mod that will definitely be done once good weather rolls back around.

You will get the most noise reduction by doing all the doors, behind and under rear seats has nothing but a piece of carpet. Floor is minimal since it has some padding and not much on roof if you have a sunroof.

Yea, same here. Road noise makes the OEM sound system sound even shittier than it is.
