I personally do not even light the aesthetics of these lights.
The jewel eye look does not really match with the rest of the truck.
There is even a new one coming out, with 4 LED projectors.
    Screenshot_20191201-234839-01.jpg

At most 2 projectors (preferably square-ish) per side with a simple slim DRL, dedicated turn signal and blacked out.

Lol that takes everything I dislike about the morimotos and new OEM and combine it into one

Every test I've seen of them shows they're at least double the lux.

it’s like a hybrid of the OEM 2020’s and the Morimotos. I checked out the company at SEMA and they are hitting it hard with headlights. Although they didn’t have the Tacoma ones on display, I saw their other products with the same projector and the output was actually impressive.

Alpharex's Nova series are full LEDs, and usually in a jewel eye configuration.
I like the style of their Pro series, as they are sometimes simpler.

Does anyone actually have links to the "test" on these? I put GTR LEDs in my highs, lows, and fogs - the difference is pretty substantial.

I have morimoto HIDs and LEDS in the factory housings...

Debating if these are worth the "upgrade"

That would be a huge downgrade.

Does anyone knows if the TRD Pro 2020 OEM headlights is a direct swap to our older model?

from what I understand it only requires a custom harness to get the electrical right that I saw somebody on here selling, but beyond that they just bolt in.

So, there is no splicing of the actual truck wires?

As long as you buy a conversion harness, then no. But they aren’t plug and play without the harness. Different connectors.

Thanks for the clarification. I need retrofits I guess. If I was willing to pay 925 for these. The stock reflectors with the kids and LEDs are bright, but the bouncing beam and cutoff are annoying. And I know with a better projector I could get so much more...
Good sources for retrofits? It's not something I'm willing to do myself, I don't have finesse for these types of mods lol

If I'm reading this and your other comparison graphs right then the Philips HID kit seems to dominate everything out there right??

Maybe just wishful thinking as Philips is what I went with after hours of research a couple years ago, I remember seeing your original post and feeling vindicated lol

if I wasn’t for the stock projectors bouncing all over the place the Phillips XD kit would be a superb upgrade. They are bright as hell close in and down road, not obtrusive, and the stock projectors create a colorful effect cut off with them.
They are also a true 4600k color temp, they are not eye straining white and they are not halogen yellow. They are right in the middle, like looking at the road when the sun is out.

Theres guy on here that does retrofits: bhlm, turn signal modifications, rx350 projectors, etc.... really good deal by comparison.

Try thicker o-rings, I put some random ones on I found at my local hardware store and it seemed to eliminate about 90% of the "shaking", still slightly there when I'm on washboard roads and stuff but not enough to bother me.

And yeah I love this kit, been running it for 3 years in all types of conditions from -20 below in the Sierras to +120 in Death Valley. Never had an HID kit last so long, used to buy cheapo DDM tuning kits but would constantly replace bulbs and ballasts, like at least once every 6 months, DDM was always cool about it and gave me free replacements but it was still a pain in the ass to have a headlight suddenly go out while I'm on a trip.
