Always been bothered by the amount of road noise in this Tacoma as compared to my 2nd gen.
This is a mod that will definitely be done once good weather rolls back around.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
You will get the most noise reduction by doing all the doors, behind and under rear seats has nothing but a piece of carpet. Floor is minimal since it has some padding and not much on roof if you have a sunroof.

Yea, same here. Road noise makes the OEM sound system sound even shittier than it is.

Do you have a full side profile of your truck? I wanted to see what it looks like with the black 4Runner off-road wheels

I love my 4runner wheels. Thought about doing some blue trim or highlights to them.2018_06170010.jpg
Didn't do anything "to" the Tacoma but did a thing for my Tacoma accessory manufacturing. Added a second overhead heater to the manufacturing side of my shop. Now I have a heater in my car bay and one in my machining bay. Ready for winter.

Got a smoking deal on a used Snugtop Rebel with fold down slider front window, carpet interior, Yakima tracks, and reinforced roof. Removed my Backflip MX4 that came with the truck, which was great but I just need a topper for camping. I'll be cleaning that up to sell.

    Also added AVS vent visors.

Black Friday fairy is bringing some Thule crossbars, Cali raised hidden bumper light, and Meso black turn signals.

    Truck is coming along :)

So I finished this today in my 3rd Gen. Took my daughter back to VA Tech, after the Thanksgiving week break. Left early Sat AM, about a 750 mile trip from our house. Great weather, perfect day for a drive and I love the route thru NY to VA, Rt 84 to Rt 81. I've done the trip twice before in a full size Yukon, first time in the Tacoma. My truck is stock, engine, tires, etc with just a few cosmetic mods so far. It was perfect time with my oldest, lots of laughs and conversation along the way between the 2 of us. I had reservations to stay the night in Blacksburg, VA and return today, the same route. What threw me a curve ball was the storm forecast, with the Boston news reporting the path to be basically my entire route home - at the same time! So I took her and her roommate out to dinner and then decided maybe it would be in my best interest to get a jump on the return trip. A couple of gas, coffee and bathroom stops and a tad over 11 hrs later, I arrived back here this morning. I'm not sure who was more tired me or the truck. It's my daily driver, basically I'm a flatlander living about a mile from the ocean and drive it maybe 1K a month, mostly locally. It was an eye opening experience to say the least, even while manually downshifting from overdrive, to see how much the truck struggled with the hills in NY, PA and VA. I just could not imagine how you guys out west with "real hills", especially if you have any type of armor, steel bumpers, winch and/or larger tires, are able to drive your truck regularly thru the elevation changes. I know I could go with a tune, but I truly think I needed 2 more cylinders to just be able to stay with the flow of traffic. I really felt like I was abusing the truck near the end, even on a few smaller hills coming out of CT and the MA. It just seemed so under powered and I was trying to drive it easy. About 1500 miles total and got around 21-22 mpg. Still love it for everything else, but the next trip will be with the Yukon. Thanks Bill in MA
