That's how I've done em. What'd you use a lil press? Like a ball joint or tie rod end press?

Having a vise is a huge help, your cougar 'vice' prolly didn't help you much:D:rofl:
It would be a real inconvenience to replace u joints without a vise. I used the vise to hold the shaft while I worked on the u joints. You guys were able to use the vise to press the joints out and back in huh? Maybe my vise didn't open wide enough, not sure why I didnt try it that way. Don't remember.
    Good job dude:cool:

Need to replace my driver door weather stripping since its chewed up pretty bad at the bottom. On the passenger side, the passenger (crewcab door) - top stripping needs to be replaced (torn 1 inch section). Last time I checked with Gunny it was just as expensive... o_O

A new one should last though, it's wearing in a brand new wear pattern on a NEW joint. Once replaced, and if lift height stays same and stuff, new one should last years. You using a Koyo or a Spicer brand one?

I just memba'ed also the shims for tilting the axle housing, you already tried that? If not, throw a shim in each side, since you have a new bearing and see if the angle is what's jacking it. Or maybe you've already fixed all this and are aware and I'm being redundant, because you didn't ask anything lol I'll shut up:D

I used a spacer to drop the bearing down.

Maybe I should just be better at greasing it

Gotcha, well I'm glad you were able to speed up the repair process :D seeing you'll likely keep doing it yearly:rofl:
That is better than not doing it and letting it fail while driving though  so you've got that going :D

Maybe. I think I'd rather grease it twice a year at oil change time instead of replace the ujoint once a year.... I know you're being funny, but sounds like you've got it under control
