The Pro has the JBL Premium head unit, so it's bound to be different and yeah, the camera options are nice.

Exactly you would take a bath on made payments, difference in price, and TT&L before it was all said and done which would be crazy for the marginal changes, but hey we know lots of others on here that are going to pull the trigger and do it in a heartbeat.

I talked with the top tech and the service manager at my dealer, and worked with the tech for a couple hours before that. That tech worked through his connections at Toyota for hours before I got back to the dealer to work with him. Also worked with 5 service writers and 2 other techs for almost two hours on a previous visit. I'm pretty sure if there was a path forward, we'd have figured it out. I'm pretty technically savvy, it's not like I haven't tried, and not like the dealer isn't making an effort.

Corporate won't get back to me. Calls and emails have been sent, they're not responding. Not sure what is going on there. When I go to the website for help, my truck doesn't exist.

My nav button is non-functional. I have known all along that my unit does not have the internal nav, I am referring to the Entune Scout app that has never worked. I was told before I purchased the truck that it would do what I needed. AA and Carplay work within the limits of the respective software. There is a limited amount of offline maps that I can download, and I have done so. The phone must be plugged in to USB for AA to work, which means no USB music.

As far as the HD Radio? Pretty confident that it is not there. Toyota's website has been recently changed (since the screengrab I took on 11-13-19 when I was first trying to figure mine out) to eliminate HD Radio from the specs on my head unit.

My HU looks just like @dpippel 's pic posted above.

Honestly, I am not all that fussed at this point, I will be running an aftermarket unit as soon as I have the time to research, purchase and install one. I mainly just wanted to share my experience with the 8" touchscreen in my 2020. IMO, they are NOT worth writing home about, I certainly would not pay a premium for one.

Same issue here. My VIN isn't found, yet I was able to register it on the Toyota Owner's websiyte with no problem.[/QUOTE]

Pressing my MAP button pops up an error message stating that there's no navigation app installed, and directs me to visit the Toyota website for more info. Of course there isn't any info.

As for the USB port, my manual states that if you use a hub the head unit can read TWO USB devices at a time. So, I'm going to experiment with that tomorrow. I'll let you know if it works. I'm not confident. Apple Carplay AND MP3 data flowing across the same USB BUS? Unlikely. My manual also states that my vehicle has HD radio (nope) and the Entune App Suite (also nope). Toyota really screwed the pooch on this.

Same situation for me, and I feel exactly the same way. Toyota really dropped the ball here.

My VIN is registered, my accounts are active, but my information has not updated and the websites don't seem to be working right. I was not able to connect via mobile at all, which made troubleshooting really hard. My Entune app connects but does nothing. My Maps button pops up the same message.

No HD Radio. No Apps. Good thing I made at least a part of my purchasing decision based on having those apps and an HD Radio so I wouldn't have to change out the head unit immediately.

At least I have the option to change out the head unit and get most of the functionality I am looking for. Hopefully doing so does not compromise the rest of the functionality I already have. Changing head units isn't really possible with the Land Cruiser.

Good luck with the testing. I also have a USB splitter cable on the way from Amazon that I am going to try this weekend. It is huge though, not at all the look I am after. If it works, I will try to find a way to mount it behind the dash.

It's pretty frustrating, I agree. Aside from Carplay, the head unit in my 2018 had more functionality. As for the USB hub, I went with this and will try to stick it in the back of the Qi charging pad cubby:

Welp, I tried 3 different USB hubs today - two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0. None worked as I wanted them to. With both my iPhone and a thumb drive with MP3 files loaded up connected, the head unit only sees the devices as USB storage. It identifies the phone as an iPod, of all things. With the iPhone connected to the hub by itself, same thing. It's ONLY seen as a USB storage device and CarPlay does not work at all. Apparently the phone must be plugged directly into the dash USB port in order for CarPlay to function. No hubs in the path.

So much for that idea. Again, THANKS Toyota!

I actually went from 4 to 3. When I was Installing my new headlights, one of the plugs separated from the wiring harness for the raptor lights, and I didn't feel like dealing with it at the time so I just decided to run 3.

Currently, I removed all of them. I like the way they look at night, but they really are cheap and shitty... Felt like they were cheapening the look of the truck so I just pulled them altogether.

I tried the 2-port cable I linked earlier. No joy for me either. I'm on Android, in my case the phone shows up and Android Auto is the only source visible.

After 9 days, Toyota's support got back to me and said since I am on an unsupported cellular network (Fi), they can not guarantee cellular connectivity, yet their list of supported networks included all three of the networks that Fi uses (T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular). Funny - I never asked them about cellular connectivity because that part works great. I asked them about the missing Entune apps and HD Radio. Neither of those questions was answered. The fail is getting stronger.

Indeed. I'm hoping that Toyota gets a crap-ton of complaints about this, and issues a firmware update to correct the problems. But, hope is a fragile thing. Chances are high that they'll do absolutely nothing.

I spent quite a few hours trying to get the entune app suite to load from the phone app to zero results. I'm registered on the toyota app, but support on the app wont allow 2020 models. The entune 3.0 android app wanted me to load alexa, then tells me my truck isnt compatible with alexa. It also tells me I need a newer version of any browser i try. I finally googled what apps are on entune and wondered why i would ever use any of that junk anyway. As far as I can tell there are only 5 apps.
My maps button tells me i dont have maps activated. The 90 trial for wifi tells me to call support. Truly i really don't need those either. Android auto works excellent for me with google maps and any of the AA compatible music or podcast apps.
The qi charger doesn't charge through my case on my pixel 3, and only did about 5% on a 45 min drive home.
The usb slot works great, was bummed at first to have no cd player, but I've been loading up usb sticks off my computer and they take up a lot less room to store. Video from the usb looks pretty damn good too, but only plays when parked. Having had xm since its inception, I'll say this trucks reception is far better than the aftermarket sat antennae in my old f150. So there's pros and cons. One thing i am baffled about is the output of the rear speakers. Almost none. They work, but barely. Planing on passing by the dealer tomorrow and going over a few of these issues to see what they say. Seems like mostly the same issues with non-existant operations besides personal preferences.
All that said....I'm still very very happy i drove off and left my ford with the dealer.

No luck getting any of the Entune or Toyota apps to work for me either. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the apps, registered and re-registered online, contacted Toyota for help, and been to the dealership twice now. Nothing is updating online, it updated once while I was at the dealer, nothing since. Nothing via Entune at all,and as you mentioned - nothing on Toyota's website.

Fortunately, Android Auto mapping works well, but have your maps downloaded before you go, I have been caught without maps a couple times now.

As far as music? USB playback is quirky to operate, but has been solid. Can't use USB and Android Auto at the same time though. I have never tried checking the rear speakers, will adjust the fader next time I am in the truck and report back. I've had stuttering and skipping with Google Play and Pandora, which sorta sucks, but it is way better than no music at all. XM has been skipping/stuttering for me too. Bluetooth playback has been pretty solid, but it is also a little odd to start (gotta press play on the phone, only limited ability to navigate my music files too).

My QI charger works great, but I don't use a case on my Pixel 3. Try rotating the phone 180 degrees. As I recall, mine has to be positioned with the top of the screen towards the passenger side to charge, and it has to be against the passenger side of the cubby.

Love the truck otherwise, definitely glad I bought it. Fortunately, the head unit can be changed out.

If my dealer would offer 43k on a trade in for my 18 Pro, I'd pull the trigger and get the 2020 Pro. I will ask, but I was just at the dealership the day before Thanksgiving and they had so many 2019-20 Tacos for sale, including new 2019 Pros for 4K off that I doubt they'd pay that much for mine.

So the final word on the T9 is that it's pretty decent? I was looking to the Alpine 309 but it's so damn expensive.... And I wanted it for the integrated aux switches which is even more $$$.
