no. if I listen to music outside of my vehicles then I usually go with Amazon music. free with my prime and I can listen to it at work

gas boiler - hot water baseboards. landlord pays the heating bills so I keep it toasty in here  also helps this time of year that I'm upstairs and south facing so I get a lot of radiant heat added from that.

its probably tied in with the onstar? not really sure. traffic isnt really an issue out here so its not something i've used in the truck. i did use the navigation system last weekend when I went camper shopping in Billings, MT. Not super familiar with getting around over there so it was nice being able to plug in the address of the RV places and the truck directing me right to where I was going. Curious how the nav works offroad... but I rarely need help finding my way around the middle of nowhere, only get confused in city traffic

We kinda take things like that for granted down here.
Last year up in W PA the power went out for 3 days and it was cold, so we sat around the camp fire until enough Gentleman Jack was consumed and then into the house into the sleeping bag. House was like a fridge. Did coffee over the camp fire along with simple food, but dang it was cold. It was celebrated when the power came back on. My buddy’s camp is way out in the sticks and we are at the end of the power lines.
This year, it was so mild up in W PA, not a drop of rain, or snow. The most pleasant and mild weather I have seen in over 10 years of going to W PA for Thanksgiving. Didn’t even really need a jacket if you were moving around.

We got everything in my wife's ZR2. It's nice to have especially if you do any traveling. XM, on star, wifi, maps keeps everyone happy and entertained. The mapping has a lot of stuff on it. My wife plays on her iPad, pays bills and all that. I would have preferred the diesel but she didn't want it and it's her truck. I'm getting her the tri-fold tonneau cover for Christmas for our trip the end of January.

If you don't mind me asking, how much does all that cost to subscribe to? It is all new to me and I am definitely going that way with my next truck as I am running around 3700 to 4100 miles a month right now, so I want to be connected and ditch my TomTom, (which I hate with the burning passion of an ISIS supporter) and just have all factory support.

We lose power at least once every winter. I just always hope that its not when its -20 outside. Things cool off quickly even in buildings made for this climate.

If the nav and maps need a subscription I'd probably only sign up for big road trips. Not worried about getting around MT.

I audiobook and iPod while driving right now and it is ok, I just have to go through a reboot process whenever I stop for gas as the phone just is not playing well with my headunit anymore. It seems like every apple update screws with more crap and makes things glitchy.

Me too...I'd been using their free service with ads since sometime last year. When we got new phones a few months ago, the ITUNES on our MAC desktop gave me some BS about updating operating system crap, and wanted to charge me to do so... I ditched ITUNES and went with Pandora $5 a month subscription, whatever level that's called; I love it and it includes 4 "stations" of music for download when I'm offline...so I can listen to it when I'm out at my friends cabin or driving somewhere without cell coverage.

I went with XM because there are 3 radio stations here in town and they are all on about a 35 minute loop...and they suck. Weekend mornings aren't too bad and, while I'm playing in the garage I'm not really listening to it. Cell service around town is fine, but out where I work it's more miss than hit.

I'd probably use XM if the satellite coverage were better up here. From what I know, or have heard, it's pretty spotty.

If you have heavy cloud cover I'm sure that'll mess with it. About the only time mine goes out is when I pull under some kind of roof or shade like a gas station or my parking shed. Occasionally driving through a deep wash the hills will block it. Heavy tree canopy will do it too.
