So already had my first snow experience in the stock sport Firestone tires and not a fan. I’m all city driving at this stage in my life so need something with good gas mileage but also good snow or all season performance. Like the looks of ATs and leaning that route but so many options. I want to keep the sportier look so nothing crazy pattern wise and mpg are important but just something better in adverse conditions. I’ve ran KO2s before with mixed thoughts as well as Nitto Ridge Grapplers but a bit too aggressive and terrible on MPG. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

Considering Wildpeaks, Open Country AT2s, Nitto Terra Grapplers

Oh there will be some mods all right
I haven't run these myself, but I have heard good things about them. http://us.coopertire.com/tires/discoverer-at3-4s Decent looking tire, not too aggressive where they are loud and kill mpgs.

Cooper RTX (SL rated) tires got me far farther in Utah terrain than I ever thought they would. Good snow performance, did well on the streets, rain and snow weren't an issue.

3"-4" isn't a great gauge, but they did just fine today.

Awesome, leaning towards the Nittos right now, still trying to decide. Thanks for sharing!

I like the look of the Yokohama Geolander G015. They've been a great commuter tire and are 3 snow flake rated. These are on my GMC Sierra and have been a super smooth highway tire on the commutes and great grip in the mud on the farm.

My tacoma has Hankook Dynapro ATM. I just spent Thanksgiving in Yosemite and powered through over 2 feet of snow and ice over 5 days even with the tires towards the end of their service life at 5/32" tread depth. They've been a great highway tire. Very quite. They don't look too aggressive though...

The Dynapro ATM are also a 3 snowflake rated and never loss confidence in the tire even driving through snow and ice for 5 days. They don't do so well in mud since the tread pattern is a bit tight as well as the sidewall is a bit soft since there is a pretty good bulge even at highway pressure. I'll probably switch to the Geolanders or the Falken Wildpeak next.

Day before Thanksgiving. Wawona in South Yosemite. The snow just started that morning and would continue for 3 more days. Hankook Dynapro ATM had plenty of grip.

I'd give the Yokohama Geolandar ATs a try. My dad has them on his Subaru and they're great.

I ran the SL Geolandar G015s and they were excellent on road, in wet and in on-road snow. They did fine on dirt trails but are definitely not rock crawling tires. Liked them so much I put a set on our '17 CRV AWD. They are not very fuel efficient though. They look good for a mostly road tire.
