'bout the same, except I watch a bunch of high pressure steam boilers.

Same. The city I call home is close enough.

I went and looked at the LC this weekend. It was way overpriced. They shampooed the carpet yet it was still wet and could get suds up when you scrubbed it with your hand. The driver power seat didn't work, the 3rd row seat belts weren't bolted down, it had duct tape on the front fender flare, rims were oxidized, tires were shot, alignment was needed, paint was gone, tint was peeling. What really got me was when I mentioned the head gasket, he lied and said they replaced it. There were no signs of that at all. I didn't even make an offer.

    Not at all.

If you are going to buy a 20+ year old vehicle, do you really think you are gonna find what you want on the 1st go?

I was looking at LC repairable out of curiosity. I Do think your odds of finding what you want are more promising there.

I like to use the site: Erepairables.com

Carefully, it's a deep rabbit hole.

I don't have the time or knowledge to fix any major problems. I want one that is good enough to drive and only needs work that I can easily do myself. I'd rather pay a bit more upfront and not have a "project" on my hands.
But no way in hell was that LC worth $6,900. They had it originally priced at 8K.

If you're looking @ FZJ80 LC's, $6,900 won't get you anything near decent. $10K+ & that'll need new leather, paint/body work, no factory lockers & needing lots of TLC.

I don't mind some work, just don't want a major project. 10K down here will get a real nice one. If I find one for the price I want, I'll get it. If not, that's ok too :D

This one is $7,500 with 173K

That looks like a good deal. I sold my '97 for $11,500. It was built & ready to go but no factory lockers, no skids, needed leather work, 205K miles & the damn motor threw a rod about 15K miles after I sold it (it didn't have any motor issues when I sold it, though). I put 60K miles on it, drove that thing from the Mexico border to the Canada border & lots of places in between, including wheeling the hell out of it. It never left me stranded.
    They're tough, that's for sure.

Tonight's the last "slow night" till Friday. Gonna try to watch a couple movies since I rarely ever go to the cinemas and I missed out on a few good ones

I haven't been to the movies since X2 came out in 2003

I'm trying to decide if I want to order my Dobinsons lift tomorrow or buy the stuff to finish the Tacoma bed trailer.

I could buy the bed, frame, axle, wheels/tires, and have the front of the frame built...….or buy the lift and maybe the bed and frame for the trailer.

Copart.com is another good one. Can get a good deal if you play the auction game.
