I actually know someone who majored in tuba. Actually, he was amazing at any instrument he picked up and he could sing too. He taught me to play drums.

He was lead singer in a rock band that we were in high school, what a good time that was:devil:

I knew a person could major in music, didn't know a person could major in a specific instrument. Now don't I feel like a dumbass.

Yes they are. Took me about a year just to be not bad at guitar. I appreciate more when i see people play and sing at the same time. It sure is a talent.

Well, technically you declare music as your major. If you’re a music performance major, you’re either a vocal major, conducting major, or instrumental major. Then, if you’re an instrumental major, then you usually select an instrument.

By the way... the big horn used in Marching Bands that wraps around you, and is carried on one shoulder is NOT a "Tuba" it's a "Sousaphone". A "Tuba" is more of an orchestral instrument, that looks like a big baritone horn.

I think think the correct name is euphonium, lol. Correct name for the baritone, I mean.

No big brain, I’m afraid. If so, I’d have selected something that would have paid a little more, . Although I’ve got two degrees in music, they’re in vocal and choral music. I play tenor sax as a diversion. I’ve been directing and singing in choirs, and playing in instrumental groups for over 45 years.
