    I just got one yesterday so I don’t have any recipes to share YET

    OVT, 4.88, ADM, F&R ARB lock, KO2's, RWD L MOD
    Curry chicken. Chicken thighs. Lots of curry spices, some butter. Fresh garlic and fresh onion. Fresh grated ginger. Lock and go around 8-10 minutes, natural release. DON'T add liquid.

    There are a lot of recipes in the "I'm broke" thread that will work in an IP because it is also a slow cooker. I'd like to see some of them converted to a pressure cooker. Especially the Spicy Italian Beef. :drool:

    I've made beef stew twice pressure cooked and it was good. My wife even liked it! I read a lot of web recipes, then just winged it. I didn't takes notes, :( Basically sauteed beef chunks, beef broth, chunks of veggies of your choice, and SPG. High pressure 35min, natural release. Turned on saute and stirred in cornstarch to thicken. Total time was about 90min.

    My notes are in that thread, I post in there and will here just so I have future reference to what I did LOL.

    Prime grade top sirloin on sale for $10.99. I'll take 2 pounds please.

    Normally use barley for soups with grouse and pheasants, but also like vegetable beef barley soup. Been a long time since had that and had about a cup of pearl barley left so thought I'd use it up. First time using the saute feature of the IP, and like not having to clean another pot or pan.

    Turned out perfect.

    Vegetable beef barley soup

    2 pounds prime grade sirloin cubed (or stew meat)
    bacon grease
    1 teaspoon Salt
    1 teaspoon pepper
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    4 cloves of garlic, minced
    Can petite diced tomatoes
    6 cups beef base broth
    2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    1 cup pearl barley
    3 sprigs of thyme
    2 Bay leaves
    3 cups mixed vegetables

    Saute meat in bacon grease with cut up onion until brown, add minced garlic when almost done.
    Add everything else into pot
    Set valve to sealing
    Select manual to 18 min. High Pressure cooking
    Once done let manual release, or 20 min.

    Simple, fast, and very tasty. Of course take the thyme sprigs and bay leaves out when lid is opened.

    I’m doing spaghetti in mine for the second time. It’s pretty simple.

    1lb Ground Beef
    Salt
    Pepper
    Garlic Powder
    Italian Seasoning
    2 to 2.25 Cups Water
    1 to 1.5lb Spaghetti
    1 Jar Sauce or equivalent homemade

    Brown the meat on sauté mode until fully cooked. Add seasoning to taste. Pour in water and stir well. Be sure to get any brown bits off the bottom and mixed in. I don’t drain the fat either if it’s somewhat lean meat. Break pasta in half and put in pot in alternating layers to help with pasta sticking together. DO NOT STIR

    Add jar of sauce on top of pasta noodles. Again do not stir. Put the lid on and make sure vent is closed. Set for 7 mins of high pressure cook. After the 7 minutes is up quick release the steam. Open the pot and stir everything together. Once it’s mixed together let sit 2-3 minutes.

    The texture is a little different more towards the al dente type noodle. Comes out really good, super easy to make and 1 pot cleanup.

    First time using the insta pot and I chose to do venison stew...

    Ingredients:
    1 tablespoon of olive oil
    1 pound of venison
    2 teaspoons of herbs de province
    1 teaspoon of salt
    3/4 teaspoon of black pepper
    4 cups of diced potatoes
    2 cups of diced carrots
    One cup of diced celery
    One large onion diced
    Two cloves of garlic minced
    One 15 ounce can of diced tomatoes
    4 cups of unsalted beef broth
    3 to 4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce

    Looks great! Did you brown the meat in the IP? The 1st time I did I let the oil get real hot, when the meat hit it oil splattered everywhere. Lesson learned, and paper towels used. ;)
    IP makes some damned good beef stew.

    I did brown the venison in the IP.. I didn’t let it get super hot but it was hot enough to sizzle right away. It was the first time I used our IP since we got it so I read a lot before using it.
