Don't need either! I bolted them to the stock holes on my '99 and they are just as solid as the original small flares. Hopefully they stay like that, if not then I'll drill holes or do adhesive but I don't think it'll be needed.

when you say stock holes, do you mean the ones on the bottom side of the fender where the liner attaches?
My truck came with missing flares so I have no reference to where they attach.

Yup, those are what I mean. The flares are stiff enough that they bolt on and stay put just fine using those holes only.

    Gotcha. Thanks for explaining.

Did you have to do any trimming on them/do you rub anywhere?

Haven't had it offroad since installing them. I did have to trim the rear flares since my bed is cut for the bumper but that's it.

@xtremewlr , just reading through your build on the front and rear bumpers, They look good. But I have a question, why not use the front headlight loops. Wouldn't they provide some extra front end protection in case of a deer collision, or any other obstacle while trail riding. just curios.

Sure, they probably would but I didn't like the look as much and they also make working on the engine that much harder, having to lean over them and all. I do have them and can weld them up if I decide to. Same with the side hoops on the rear bumper, although that's purely a looks thing.

I prefer it without the headlight hoops but you heard my two cents already. Lol.

hey when do you wanna start tinkering with the garage electrical?

Anytime after Turkey day works for me. What's your schedule like? Maybe 12/7 or 8?

Let’s start Saturday in case it takes a little longer than expected and we can wrap it up Sunday.

Spiker hood struts installed. Very straight forward to do, great fit and finish. Hood opens an additional 6" now, which is awesome. Only thing I had to do to make room was rotate my air compressor switch down. The strut was turning it on when I closed the hood otherwise.

I'm sure there are many of us, including myself, that have no welding skills at all. there are many mods, I'd like to do, but don't have the "Money", or the ability to weld and fab. If I could do work that looked like yours, I'd be one happy old man. Looking at your pics from the mountains, makes me wish I'd moved out to Arizona 30 years ago, when I was thinking about it.

Thanks, I'm no professional welder, far from it! I appreciate the compliment tho! Really happy I made the choice to move out here!

Finally swapped the clutch spring out for an Ace #70 spring. Good thing too, wasn't much life left on the clutch pedal center hook and the spring was almost worn half way thru. Might get an OEM brake pedal spring later.

You tack that bracket in or was that there?
